alright, so here's an update: smog woes... this is what I've been dealing with for the past few. writing this down makes it easier to think of a game plan...

        need to do:
-(as thieves stole my reg) I need to go to AAA get a replacement reg and hopefully pay smog dues

seems easy enough. hopefully they will let me pay the smog dues so I don't get hit with penalty charges due to late reg

-(as the car hasn't bee inspected yet since the theft) get the vehicle brake and lamp inspected

brake and lamp (especially lamp) may introduce a few complications; for one, I may have to get these inspected at CHP - California Highway Patrol EEK! (a few interior lights have been modified - need to go back to OE.)

headlights need to be stock; I don't think JDM would fly with the inspection.

-bring the car to the ref to be inspected, to hopefully get the vehicle BAR'd

passing the inspection of the BAR is difficult as fk! I need to get a set of stock OEM header for an H22, stock CB7 exhaust, etc. I must find all the paperwork for the purchase of the H22

what else? ...I'll update when I can think of more

              ugh... found this:

              Replacement Engines
Entire engines can be replacement parts. As with any other replacement part, the engine must be identical to the original. If the replacement block or engine is obtained without emissions equipment, all the equipment from the original engine must be installed on the replacement block.

If the engine is not identical to the original then it is not a replacement part, instead it is considered an engine change.
Engine changes are a modification that must meet certain requirements to be legal (please see "Engine Changes").

              Japanese Replacement Engines
Used engines imported from Japan can be used as replacement engines as long as the engine being used has been identified as functionally identical to the original engine. Please refer to the engine importers catalogue to determine if a replacement engine is legal for installation in your vehicle.

oh man!! i went to the DMV to ask if I can get an extension on my smog certificate. they said, they will grant me 60 days if I can come back with the smog certificate showed as FAIL, pay the registration dues and an additional $50 for failing (or some shiet).

...here's the problem. I can't get it smogged to even get it failed. one look, and ALL smog places refuse to smog the car (good thing too cuz I'm pretty sure it's gonna pass). I'll try and ask if they can still fail it without even smogging it but I'll see.

fkn CA hates modded cars! truth.

I've been so discouraged looking at the car remembering what it used to be. And the fact that it's in the garage sitting next to my pretty S2000 doesn't help much either lol

What is my current problem is the wiring. Those fkrs jacked up, well pretty much everything. I haven't brought it to any shop as of yet to get it worked on, but here's what it looked like for a while.

I recently just cleaned all that up, got replacement parts for all the stock interior parts, etc. So, with the exception of not having a stereo deck, the car looks pretty much complete inside

I replaced pretty much all of my aftermarket intake/exhaust/header with OE Honda equipment. So under the hood, it looks like what it's supposed to.

My appointment for the BAR inspection for the State of CA Referee is this coming Monday... I think everything is in order, but I'm still a little nervous for some reason. It feels like I'm cramming for a Final for a class I never attended... lol

After I deal with all this shiet, I can start installing all the replacement aftermarket parts that have been slowly taking over my house. lol

You should just go to a junkyard and get a whole new stock harness. It'll be a bitch to install, but easier than working thorough all that spaghetti!

I'm glad to see you're still keeping up with it. Every time I see your thread bumped, I'm afraid to open it and see you've given up!

yes wiring is a major pita even more so when some jack tards messed with it, you still have it a lot easier then I do though lol, you just have to fix wiring I have to completely rewire my car to fit an engine that isn't supposed to be there lol, hope it goes smoothly for you, and I am really looking forward to seeing it completed again
