It can be set to display a number of things like what gear you are in, but there and by default it displays the number of satellites the gps is picking up on.

And
Made a temp background out of aluminum today, set shift lights to 0 rpm as well. The last light isnt on on each side when the car is off, but when youre moving you get those lights and 1 more as well for shift lights, all staged with whatever increment you want, mine is 300 rpms.

Damn reminds me of motec. I was wondering if the readout was compatible with anything else (prob not) or is it haltech only?

I got a similar question over at H-T.
The one you see is compatible with Haltech only as it has a Haltech specific VNET module built into it. If you were to buy the regular IQ3 datalogger dash, it is 1395, and if you then purchased the Haltech Vnet module, it alone is 375. However, this one combines the two at $1495.
Now, you can use it by itself for the gps and g monitoring capabilities and it will display lap times, predictive lap, and some other stuff, but when used with a vnet module it displays info that your EMS is seeing.
There are other modules that you can purchase to make it work with systems like Autronic, electromotive, and some others, but, the one you see is Haltech specific.
It communicates via the CAN output(thing of LAN for your car) and is easy to install.
I would assume it is very similar for other systems, although i could not say for sure.
Cliff's notes: Yes, they make versions of the iq3 compatible with others EMS, but the one you see is Haltech specific.2010 Taurus SHO - Livernois Goodies

I just cant get over the size. Even with a nice plate or backing piece...kinda reminds me of a motorcycle gauge, lol.
I dunno. It's function over form and thats what counts.

AIM(no, not aem) is another option as well, although IMO the racepak dash is very good and costs less. Also, if you dont need gps speed and a g meter, the display version is pretty cheap and you can use the onboard datalogging of an E8 or an E11v2.
I know Haltech isn't up there in terms of name recognition like Motec, but in all honesty, and this isnt just my bias speaking, the newest Haltechs are very good units. Gobs of outputs and controls. I dont know which AEM unit you are looking at or what it costs, but a new E8 with full wiring harness is often times cheaper than some of the aem stuff.
Plus, we do phone tech support, we dont just send you to the message boards like AEM does.
/shameless self plug.
Ill bring my laptop and show you some of the e8's features and software to IA and you can check it out.2010 Taurus SHO - Livernois Goodies

Also, the IQ3 is more of a datalogger than a dash, and for a dash only, they also have some choices like the UDX and the LDX, which look like this.
I prefer the racepak in all honesty, and realistically, this isnt meant to be a true dd dash replacement, but by george, Im turning it into one!2010 Taurus SHO - Livernois Goodies

Just the full AEM EMS for the other car. I dunno what to do with the accord right now my lil bro just got an 05 camry =O. Either I am gonna take insurance off this car and turn it into a track car or buy another cb and transfer everything over and go from there since this one has been wrecked before. Might try some SCCA stuff with it but dunno. So many decisions to make as of now.
