    Also, as for heat generation, isn't that an effect of overly aggressive timing values quite often? If good tuners were abound, they could back that off a bit when they do tune it and reduce much of the heat risk. I could be wrong however.

      You haven't been around much lately, but it seems that there are FAR fewer people with these cars that drive like mature adults. It's mostly a teenager/high school kid car now and my generality was to reflect that majority. I didn't mean to imply you, or anyone from the period you were active was this way.

      To a degree, yes(punny). But heat is just a natural by-product of any combustion process. The great amount of air you can ignite inside the combustion chamber equates to a greater amount of energy being produced. Energy is released as heat. Unless the displacement is changed, then for an engine to produce more power, it will end up producing more heat as well.
