Awesome! Sucks about the f22b head, I think i might know of a couple people that have one. I'll check and see.

Edit: I almost missed the last pic . . . Can't wait to see that come along.

Thanks! I agree. I like not having the external coil out and on display. Let me know when you go to do the wideband install.

Hehe, Im actually pretty excited about it now that it is running again. With this head flow, upped cr, cam, etc, I should make some semi decent power.

Thanks man, I think I have an h23 head coming my way though, and will look to build this spare block I now have to actually handle some real boost. We shall see.

Thanks man. I will end up doing a harness for the cop setup as well. Not sure what do to do with the dizzy, as I still need the sensors inside of it.

I really want to make a complete custom harness still as well, but I just haven't had time to do so. I have this spare harness here, so I have the ability and the means, its just a question of if I want to bother with it, and if I have the patience for it as well. It would be lots of measuring, crimping, soldering, etc, but in the end it would definitely be worth it IMO.

How custom? I have an adjustable cam gear on this head and on the f22b dohc which I killed.

Regardless, tuned it on 7 psi today and am very happy with the results. Put down 197 whp on a dyno dynmaics and 188 tq. With the dynojet correction numbers(18%), thats about 234 whp, so I am only 12 whp below what I was on 12 psi with the 14b.

Car pulls amazingly well, and is a complete blast to drive.

I feel like a douche for wanting to get rid of her now.

I will end up retuning for 12-15 psi and racegas as well, using some oxygenated xxx racing fuel at work, and may do some runs on monday at work. 300 whp should not be a problem at all.

And without further adieu, here are some pics, its time to go spend time with my little girl.

Ha, thanks, it is very nice sharing the building with dyno dynamics.

Ah, I gotcha. I could always run the custom aem distributor replacement! haha

Yeah, it got a little redder than that at times. When we were steady state tuning different load cells, it would get red as fack. Surprisingly enough, the car would start to get a little hot, but then it would cool right back down when we took the load off the dyno.

Thanks! It drives amazingly well now, I think the 140+wtq at 2400 rpms has a lot to do with how responsive it feels.

Here is a comparison of an early 14b tune vs this tune. The tq curve is sooooo much nicer this time. Even though peak numbers arent the same (YET) the area under the curve has increased and the torque is there much earlier now. Always remember kiddos, everyone wants a big HP number, but the torque is what you drive, and what you should tune, tune the torque curve.

I will surpass the old numbers without a problem I do believe and should, as I said before make 300 whp.

Suspension should go on next week.

Now, as for exact motor details it is

                          F22b dohc block
                          f22a sohc head
Delta 272 cam with skunk 2 adjustable cam gear
                          Evo 3 Big 16g
                          Evo 9 560cc injectors
Static CR is 9.3:1 instead of 8.8:1 thanks to the bottom end of the f22b dohc motor. The pistons are not as dished as the f22a pistons, so this is essentially the same as milling the head .040 (thanks for the calculation there Dr. Los)

Like I said, it feels great to drive, torque is there, it responds instantly, and it pulls very very well.

Thanks to everyone for keeping my head in the game when I just wanted to burn it to the ground last week.

                              For power, yes.

Dynojet reads about 15-18% higher on average, but they are complete ass for tuning on.

For tuning, Dyno Dynamics are they best you can buy. On a dynojet it would have been 232 whp, only 12 less than before, on 5 less psi.
