I don't Believe HIDs are Illegal

well if you read the sticky at the hid forum, the law is something like

'no hid bulb can be used in a lens that was made for a halogen bulb'.

yes it is very much illegal in the whole us. But cops usually don't care quite so much I guess... not sure if that counts retros out technically? and shop guys aren't gonna know that hehe..

when I do my retro I'm still gonna have my fogs (regular bulbs, well, 100W versions, again not legal over 65w muahaha) that won't look so HID ish so I can use those if I'm passing a cop or something lol

lol no I don't think you'll have any problems, in cali anythings' possible but I think it shouldn't matter. It's probably more of a fire hazard when not installed right/cheap balasts catch fire which is why. I'm doing em too, but with an hid projector. Probably going with some mad blue 12000's though, idc too much about usability it will be fine plus I'll have the other non hids.

i just love to build anxiety... looks pretty good though, i had to cut about 2 inches off each end and make all new holes, don't forget the bending but it all worked out
