R.I.P.
AzN VtEc PoWeR (6:38:35 PM): im gonna go shit in someones cereal
NutBucket: yep finally got the cashish for the motor. now i need to smog it . i didn't know what to do with the old f22 so i just gave it to my buddy two days ago. it's such an eye sore, on and off the car LOL!
willie_hwl: the header is coming off soon. i want the stock header back. i'm weird like that thinkin that stock is better than aftermarket .
excalibur02: i'm also jealous of a lot of other cars out here. it's a never ending cycle. a brutal one at that.
EdgarCb7: yeah it's been awhile but you know i'm always at tab representin. i did do the motor myself. check my swap journal for more details. so you ditched the f22b and went h22 eh? welcome to the DOHC side!
StickyDilJoe: i almost forgot about this one but if i can get my stock header on by then and clean my car, i'll be there buddy! i gots to chill with you again .
smog legit with a jdm motor is harder than i thought. my NO2 was reading 1100 when it should have been around 700max. higher comp than the usdm motor really does a lot to smog. i still have my stock cat though (230k miles on it YIKES!).
sorry joey for not making it to the meet. complications as always...

pics soon to come boys!
make sure your cat is good, if not replace it with one that is close to the 90-93 specs. you could do a high flow cat, just make sure its a brand name catalytic converter. I personally have a carsound on my car, its freaking huge, my buddy says its a gm cat, but heck it does its job. Also make sure your cat is hot when you go to the smog station, ie drive it around for 30 minutes or so, and if you want drive it hard.. More importantly leave your car running when you get to the smog shop. The hotter the cat the lower the emmissions. 1100 isnt bad, my car was a gross polluter meaning it was in the 1800's.
it could also be your o2 sensor, because it could be bad and dumping too much gas. also if you have a functional egr valve, unbolt it and make sure no carbon is built up around the needle.. this also could make you fail, because the EGR controls alot.
the h22a compression isnt that high, i passed a euro r motor on a test only sniffer and a regular h22a motor on the bar sniffer, so it can be done. patience grasshopper....
pm me your readings, i can ask my friend what he thinks, he is good at diagnosing smog failing vehicles....
thanks bmxicansd! i will be going to the meet if i get my papers in order. thanks for the sound advice on the smog. my buddy also told me to run 100 octane to lower the emissions. i'll try to clean up the EGR. buying a new cat and O2 will be costly but if it ables me to pass the BAR sniffer then i'm down for it. what ECU did you run when you BARed your motor?
