today, i hear back and they offered $6900 ( for the cost of the vehicle and licensing fees)... or $5700 or so and i keep the car. needless to say, i want to make sure the parts in working condition get onto other cb's, so i am keeping the car.

guess one really can't pay attention on the cell phone and drive. i received the check on valentine's day, and it was for $5590. the insurance company's break down:

comparable vehicle: 2950
+/- condition adjustments: 2550
actual cash value/market value: 5500
+sales tax @ 8.25%: 453.75
+ prorated dmv fees: 133
+ salvage title fee 15
- salvage value: 510.89
total claim: 5590.86

so, i got roughly half of what my aftermarket parts were worth. i guess i should have thrown in receipts for my carbon fiber dash kit, tint, and sedan door handles!

once i sell the worthwhile parts (which i've already started to do), and take the car to the junkyard, i should end up with what i originally should have received in the first place- in my mind at least. i suppose i could have dragged it out, and said that figure was unacceptable, but i was tired of driving a rental (monte carlo, paid for by allstate), and happened to be on vacation and thus was able to take care of all of this.

i have a new (to me) car now, which a few people on the boards have seen. my camera's currently on the fritz though, and i'll have a new camera sometime next week.

The only thing I can think of that is JDM, rear drive, and roomier would be a Toyota Aristo or Lexus GS. Or maybe a.... Nissan Gloria/Infinity M...
