16's are on the border as far as being optimal.

Plus, I'm sure they're heavy.

uh, yeah, but he said he can't afford the drags right now, and even so he wouldn't be running on slicks normally. Now maybe some street drags will work, but he just got the rims so I'd assume the tires are new also and he won't want to change them. Plus you usually have to choose somewhat between handling and launch grip, he might want to retain some corner control and im not sure those 16's are THAT heavy, with that much hp they are probably spinning regardless lol..

If he were to get some street drag radials...they would improve handling as well. As long as they were warm. Which in Texas, I assume it wouldn't take long for them to warm up.

yea thanks mehiko, im not saying i did the best I could, but its a huge improvement over previous attempts. Launching a fwd car with decent tq (especially at low rpm) isnt the greatest, but I did the best I could with the tires I had

I mean, with my 18's, I had lower 60fts (2.3) and ran a 15.0 with a trap of 95

with 15s and 195s in the front (18s in the back) I pulled a 15.0 at 97

so i think it improved good enough for my likings. The 16s are way lighter than the 18s for sure, but they are by no means comparable to a lightweight rim. If I could afford drag radials, I would have bought them a long time ago. i think im just going to save up for my next setup though, and try to fit some massive size tires. I'll try to get some MT ET Streets and see what theyre like. The car wont be driven in the rain much anyways

Oh, and the evo would have still pulled me. If I could launch, the best time I would pull would be a 13.4ish if the trap speed stayed the same

been lazy...i just cleaned up the intake manifold and painted it for shits. i might swap on the h23 TB, but i doubt it

plugged the egr ports and made a block off plate too
