Looking at your track videos it must have insane turbo response I wouldn't be surprised if you run consistent time to ours at the track That turbo doing work
Thanks bud. The lag is fairly minimal on this turbo, but down the 1/4 mi that doesn't matter much. I really want that 10.99 but its a faaaar stretch at this power level. I was thinking 11.30's would be within reach if I can get it geared right. We raised the redline to 7500 but I think I'll need a 24.5" tire to stay in 4th at the end of the track.
I've been eyeing a 6266 but I need to hold off and see what I can do at this power level. I'll be making a trip to the track this Friday or next, and then at Import FaceOff Dec 8th.

Having to throw it into 5th just kills time...
I agree, 7500 will be a close call on when to shift. Highly consider the 24.5s in the future. Awesome that the tracks still open for you guys. You get to try an already impressive/sick setup but with more HP before the year ends
I see mid 11s in the 120s next time you go

Us on the other hand need to shortened out the gear. Its Bouncing 4th after the finish line. Been thinking either shorter final drive or switch down to 24.5s. Going down to the smaller tire will be the least expensive and safest bet. Im calculating a 10.99 on a CB chassis has to be at the minimum 128mph...
24.5s @ 8,200rpm is right bout 131mph. Thats bout what we trap but around 7600rpm....I think switching to 24.5's is gonna be our 10.99 next year

Nwaccord - You're on a 26" right now, correct? Is your gearing calculation based on an h22a transmission? I know you'll be the first cb in the 10s unless I missed one?

Yeah been running 26" since the first 505hp setup. I'm actually using a USDM H22 transmission with stock synchrotech gears and final drive. 1-3 are a bit longer than JDM but 4th is shorter.
And honestly I wouldnt mind if anyone with a CB could break into the 10's. Be even better someone from this community

I see. I'm running the H22A trans in mine. I think the gearing is the same for 1-3, but 4th and 5th are longer. Here's the 24.5" gearing vs the 26"

Looks like I need more revs or larger tire if I ever plan for 10s Honestly though, I think that's a stretch for me. I need seat time first

Damn you guys are killing me here! Now im thinking I should buy some slicks and join in on the quest for 10's. Thats what I built my car for years ago, caged, light as possible, 550whp on tap...

only problem is I live 1800 miles from the car, and I have no motivation lol. I went with a h23 transmission and added a LSD, I thought that was best fitting for reaching 130mph on 24.5's in my setup, or 140 on 26's.

You guys are a inspiration in this community, keep it up!!

Sordz, you should definitely join the quest for 10s! Your car has been inspirational for many years, and I didn't know it was still sitting at that power level. Your car is probably the lightest; have you ever had it weighed in?

Have not had it weighed yet, couldnt find anywhere local with a scale. Only drove it once last year, hopefully 2014 will be better!

Found some 24.5x8x15 slicks that I'll be picking up Friday. They have 10-15 passes on them but should be good enough for me to use. Hopefully I'll be hitting the track this weekend, weather permitting.

Weather held up nicely, about 48 degrees today...
I got in 3 runs today at IFO. The first was pretty bad - I forgot to switch off my burnout rev limiter until 3rd gear, then missed 4th gear. Pulled a 13.2 @ 119

Second run had my best ET. Third run had my best mph.
                            Best ET: 11.68
                            Best MPH: 129

Heres a vid from the 2nd run

                            and an in-car view:

All in all - I'm VERY hopeful about this setup now. Considering my dyno numbers and it being my first runs at this power level, not too shabby I think 129mph is hopefully knocking at the door for some 10s. I do need to work on my short track and get some seat time. I really couldn't believe my trap speed though...

congrats on the time bro, thats the least amount of power in a cb7 to run that time and that says alot about the setup and driver. im telling you big turbo guys though, the T2W4 with the accord 4.062FD is where its at. the T2W4 has dual cone carbon synchros on the first 3 gears, its a factory heavy duty helical, stronger mainshaft and the gear ratios are much better. all you do is add in the accord FD to get back the mph. with turbo cars you dont need that much torque multiplication so high final drive are not needed but keeping any engine in its power range is always beneficial. i have yet to see anyone try this setup. i bet the first turbo cb7 in the 10's will be rocking a T2W4 or have a modified version of rosko racings PH2B kit.
