Yes it is! Now, here's the funny thing about that CB7: its a completely stock automatic 92 EX. He's ALWAYS there, and races in comp rod, jackpot, and the highest level class he is allowed to race in. That means he is racing with 10 and 9 second cars, and going 17.8s and 17.9s. When I ask people about this guy, who is in his 60s, they say "Oh, he's good, he's reeeal good," most likely referring to his reaction times and accuracy of his dial ins. He is the epitome of someone who is trying to make a profit bracket drag racing: no money is put into the car, and the highest possible classes are entered in order to get the highest possible cash pay out. To me, that takes the fun out of it, but, oh well

FYI, my friend and I are planning to head back to Laguna Seca one more time this year. Not sure which event yet, but right now we're leaning towards the Pirelli World Challenge (Sept. 11-13). Though the Rolex Reunion and the Porsche Reunion both look pretty cool.
Maybe we can do a mini meet for one of these races?

My vote is for the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion!
I'm singing at that event, so a comp ticket or tickets are available .
It's the best event of the year, IMHO. I've gone every year since 2006.

Ohhh yes. There is the Concorse D'elgance and the Concorso d'Italiano and the McCall Event, I believe.
My suggestion would be to stay in Santa Cruz near me (only 40 min. away), or to stay in Seaside, which is a little farther from everything than Monterey, but there is still a straight shot to the track from there.

Hey, Lucien, what about the ROLEX MONTEREY MOTORSPORTS REUNION August 13-16, 2015?
When my friend and I went to the Monterey Grand Prix, we left Friday right after work 6pm. We got there around 11pm and came back on Sunday after the race finished.Last edited by Tishock; 06-24-2015, 06:49 PM.
