Coupe is back to daily driver status. Good car with nothing wrong with it, so I may as well just drive it. I don't really plan to do any more work to it. I don't feel like doing the work of a motor swap, so the car has pretty much reached it's final state.
Right now I'm really unsure what the future holds. I've had 9 of these cars now, and probably time to move on to something else soon. What? I'm not sure.
I only got into these cars because they're cheap, plentiful, easy to work on and excellent cars. It makes sense to own one, and I enjoy the coupe for what it is, but it's no longer the car I want to build into what I was hoping to do.
And yes, the DC bar went with it.

Thank you for sharing your journey of the wagon with us! I must have joined this forum about the time you agreed to buy the wagon and have enjoyed following your progress. Here's the fun part with the wagon....yesterday I broke the bolt off the lower strut mount bushing. Need to replace that before the buyer can take it.
He's paid me half now, and will pay the other half upon completion.
However, tomorrow I'm already buying another CB. A white 1991 EX-R sedan with lots of mods. Most will go onto the coupe and will sell the sedan hopefully for the $1100 I'm paying for it.
Oh that's right...I'm getting JDM 1pc headlights, Type R lip, F&F Type 1 coilovers, white 17" Motegis and more. Total score!Last edited by crazymikey; 09-03-2012, 12:04 AM.

How about building onto the chassis you seem to enjoy? Cosmetics are nice to look at, but if you're truly going to build something i say go for it with a chassis you enjoy. Even if it's mild or wild theres a ton more to do than just be pretty and it still be very driveable in everyday conditions you don't have to go crazy to make a it fun better performing driver.

There's so much out there to choose from, but money is the big issue.
Maybe I'm starting to get bored with the coupe because I've had it for almost a year, which in car ownership time, is a LONG time for me. I average 6 months per vehicle. The CB I'm getting tomorrow will be car number 37 in 10 years.
However, the CB, and the coupe as a whole is a damn good car. Maybe with the car I'm picking up tomorrow and all the goodies on it that I'm going to take, will rekindle some interest to keep building up the coupe.
From a daily driver standpoint, the F22 in the coupe is already really quick in stock form. It's surprising what I can keep up with or beat. However, I'm mostly all about daily driving and cruising, so there's no need to really upgrade the performance much more. Yes, I/H/E and some mild work is always nice for power and efficiency. If I do a motor swap in this car, then I'm back to where I just was....motor swap, full car restoration $10 000 later, which is just not worth investing into this car, IMO.
If I was going to spend $10k, I'd probably go out and buy a Camaro, Trans Am or Corvette for that kind of money. The Honda is just a good car all around. It does everything good. That's why I keep buying them. They are great bang for the buck.

Ooh I know which one your buying are You going to keep the interior the same or fix it? Mike if that lip fits like the factory one don't sell it with which ever car you sell this time save it for me, or if you want to sell it sooner I have a legend lip you can use plus some cash. I plan on keeping my coupe for a while. So am always on the hunt for goodies!

I'm going to take all the parts I want from the sedan and swap them into the coupe. I'll probably end up putting the Tein springs into the sedan. I'm going to put the lip on the coupe and put a factory 9091 onto the sedan.
The white painted interior is awful, so I'm going to spray the dash and panels and everything black with the same SEM paint I used in my interior.

If you mean a complete tare down and restore? What would be the point in that seeing how it just an accord that's daily driven? You said you were bored with it when you've just merely touched the surface and hardly anything else. No need for a restoration on the car just have fun with it.
I'm all for an F body i've had three, but it's no honda. Putting a little mechanical elbow grease to spruce the cb up and still retain reliability and be way more cost efficient than 10k is beyond do able. But the point is you've got a decent low mileage starting point that alot of it is untouched and a community full of help, if you wanted you could turn that boredom into a heck of a decent all around performer with a heck of a potential power plant and chassis. $10k, I had priced out to do all the bodywork, full repaint, new suspension, full engine rebuild plus mods for the H22 etc. I was up around $8k by the time I had most of it priced out. I bought the Toyota truck and then the wagon because I was planning to do a full build on the coupe.
However, I decided to clean up my financial situation first, as the cost of the build is slightly more than the debt I have.
Over the next few months I'm going to flip some cars and build up some cash. Today I am starting with that white CB sedan. While I probably won't make money in it, I'm buying it mostly for it's sum of parts to use for myself.Last edited by crazymikey; 09-03-2012, 10:24 AM.
