Clean up the inner side of your hood for a much cleaner engine bay

That IS cleaned. I have no idea what that red shit is on it and I've tried every sort of cleaner and chemical on it short of sanding to get it off. I don't knw what it is or why it won't come off.

But I want to do some under hood insulation like I've seen some Thai or Malaysian CB's with. Or just paint the under side of the hood. That works too. Matte black would look good enough.

Haha from that pic it kinda looks like spray paint. Take off the hood and spray it next DIY Sunday

It does kinda look like paint, but I've tried lacquer thinner, brake cleaner, Simple Green, carb cleaner, Goo Gone, methyl hydrate and some degreasers and solvents at work and nothing is taking it off.

Hmmm? That's weird. Is it smooth to the touch? It may be covered with clear coat.

yeah its smooth as the paint. the underside of the hood was covered in grease and grime when I got the car, so when I washed it, all the crap came off, and then that was under it.

That explains it, it has clearcoat over it. Should repaint the whole thing frost white

                        Thanks

Won't be much more progress with any big items. Just small things here and there.

Totally money fucked right with owing money on taxes and some other personal debts, so my mod budget has pretty much been dwindled down to nothing.

Thankfully, in 3 months I was able to build the car up quickly and for not much money. This is why I hoard parts....saves money. What you see is more or less the finished overall look, for this year atleast.

Nice work mike, love this photo. I think now with your blue oil cap the yellow spark plug wires don't fit in, some blue ngk ones would look good. I found a new pair at the jy once am sure you can to. That intake looks cleaner then the accord one as well, over all your car is a good example of how you don't need to break the bank to look good just a bit of elbow grease

P.S with the way this bay is going a wire tuck would be sex!

Yeah, I've found both blue and red wires at the yard, but they're both on my SE and EX-R now.

These yellow wires are actually from an EG Civic hatch. IMO the yellow kinda works, since it's a colour that complements purple and blue, however I'd much rather some blue wires. I found ONE blue NGK wire last weekend...just need the other 3.

I'm wanting my engine bay colours to be purple, blue & chrome/polished/silver.

I do plan to do a very mild tuck....just mostly reroute some wires and stuff without completely hiding them. As much as I like tucked bays, they do give the impression of looking incomplete with lots of stuff missing.

BTW Antonio, once the weather gets a little nicer, we should have a little spring meet up for a cruise & photoshoot with our coupes.

a wire tuck would look good, like the new valve cover paint are you going to remove P.S.?
