Bye Bye CF hood...

Well its Sunday morning 2:07am just got home.. so yeah ill tell ya'll all about it, i was driving up to bellingham to visit some old friends at Western Washington University. And my friend was driving the car and we both decided to go a 120mph.. It happen so quick.. The hood poped up and literally shattered into like 3 pieces. It flew over the car missing the windowshield. we kept on going for another quarter mile.. for some ironic reason.. i start laughing, i didnt know what to do And my boy don gave me the weirdest look. we pulled over and part of the carbon fiber hood was still connected to the hinges.. and i looked at the hood pins and they were litterally bent. And i was still laughing, which is fucken retarded of me. So i cancel the trip and drove 60 miles back home with no hood and grill. i was thinking about the hood laying on the freeway (i hope it wasent), i should of told my friend to stop the car immediately.. call the police and get the hood off the freeway.. but then again i was going a buck 20. i pray to god no one gets hurt. Im never gonna buy a carbon fiber hood again.. EVER.. even tho it was a carbon fiber hood at least it didnt hit the window shield while going that fast.. or my friend and i would have not survived. Man what a night

P.S. i looked behind me when it happen.. non of the cars were dodging anything on the freeway.

Yeah jason.. the hood pins were literally bent in front i dont think he went a ever went a buck 20 with it..

yea the pins were bent but MAN the downforce on the hood would have kept it down ... i dont know what the hell happend.... ?? u know .. the top skin was seperating from the bottom shell ... maybe thats what cought the wind and pulled the whole thing up... thats the only thing i can think of thats possible.....

its usually air getting in underneath that will do that to you, sealing it up with some foam tape will help out tons.
