Texted you to see if you and the fam were ok due to floods/rains...
Whit and I actually got very lucky. There was a creek right across the street from our house about 2 months ago. Since then, they've re-routed it further into the field. The water only got about 5 ft from our house... however if they hadn't re-routed the creek, we'd have been flooded in. It could have easily destroyed everything we own. Most roads around here an fucked: broken, potholes, missing chunks, etc. Tim McGraw (country singer) lives about 3 miles from us, and his driveway literally washed away... and he JUST got it repaved last month.

My in laws got their basement flooded, and I've been helping my dad-in-law rip apart the basement to control mold/mildew/etc. We're pretty much done, we've just got to put it all back together.

My mom was actually flooded in for 4 days. Her house wasn't affected due to her being on a hill, but she couldn't leave her neighborhood due to 4ft of water covering the roads.

She moved into her house in November. She didn't want to leave her old house, but I pushed her along so she'd be MUCH closer to work (5min from work instead of 30). I went by her old house on Wednesday, and it's not even standing. Luckily no one lives in there, but it's still retty crazy.

It's all really sad around here. All of our "historical" shit is destroyed. Neighbors houses are destroyed. Cows running free around here because fences were washed away. Roads barely drivable. Low water supply. Etc.

I'm just grateful my family is okay.
