As far as I know, they are not discontinued. Maybe in 18", but I know I can still buy 17". I plan on getting another set, as I destroyed mine. They look great, but they're soft as anything. Drive carefully, or you'll destroy those things really quick.

2 of my rims have slight dents in them, and they've been curbed a little. But you just don't say no to 18s for $450 with tires. I've got some bronze paint from when I did my CD5s, so I can touch these up.

did you use the duplicolor kit from CT for the calipers?

No, just the VHT caliper paint in the rattle can. I wasn't spending $25 to paint my calipers.

They came out pretty good. They are really bright.

Going to head to the JY this weekend and see if I can grab some EF upper control arms and get some negative camber goin on in the front.

I'd like a rear camber kit too, but the $250 price is really putting me off.

She's gone. Traded for a 91 Jetta. I couldn't handle the awful automatic tranny anymore. Had everything ready to go for a 5 speed swap except for time and help. So, pretty much didnt expect that to happen any time soon.


Anyways, THANK YOU to all of you for your help, expertise and comments.

The Jetta is for sale, and I would like to get another CB, but HAS to be a stick this time.

Fail on the Evolutions. Guy never called me back, so I bought these 18" Falkens instead, which I think are way nicer. 215/35/18 Hankook Ventus II tires on them.

Now we're ballin.

Damn I hope that you kept those and the leather for your next cb.

mikey, what does shipping a car from the US to canada entail? is it pretty much outta grasp or reality?

I beleive importing a car to the US from Canada wouldn't be too much of a hassle. We import brand new cars from the US all the time.

I just didnt have the time or help to swap it to a manual. I would have had to buy another car to drive while doing the swap because with the time and help I have, it wouldnt be done in a weekend and I work out of town.

Had my first encounter of troubles with the VW today lol.

Fired the car up, started backing out of the driveway and all of a sudden it just shuts off. Everything. No power. Nothing.

I'm like wtf, so the first thing I do is check the battery connection on the negative terminal. Tight, everything is good. Go back, turn key...Nothing.

So I wiggle the negative terminal. There's 3 wires coming off it. One arc'd and it sorta came to life and another one started smoldering. I was like Great.... Shut the power off and disconnected the terminals. Turns out had 2 loose wires on the positive side, one which was the main power. Had to rewire all that, and now it's good as new.
