Pics of last weekends project

So this is what I did last weekend. My door panels were crap to begin with, they had old upholstery glue on them and I needed to hide that. I also wanted that nasty carpet off the bottom.

So I wrapped the insert in a thin black vinyl and wrapped the bottom part in thicker white vinyl. I ran into a few problems but over all they turned out pretty good with a couple of small flaws. Thats ok though, they look better than what I started out with. Took me about two days of work to do this. Here are some pics:

Also I finished my 93 sedan tail lights, now they are just waiting patiently to be put on after paint! These turned out amazing!



I also shaved my valve cover and re-did it. No finished pics yet though.

Its ok if you no likey. cuz I likey. lol. I was gonna use the black on the bottom except the material was too thin and it looked stupid. I went with the thicker white material for the bottom. it looks way better to me.

3/08/2010 Update

So, I got a lot of things accomplished this weekend.

Paint matched my headlights to my new paint scheme. Looks f-n awesome, might I add.

New head unit installed.

Painted and shaved valve cover installed.

I have all the pics on my other computer. I'll get some pics up later since Im at work now.

Here is a run-down of my projects and my thoughts on them, feel free to ask questions or add constructive criticism.

First, I'm experimenting with the paint matching headlights since I have some spares around. I went ahead and painted the reflector and the housing both like night wolf's old cb9 wagon. It looks good, and the light output on the dims is not that great, but its good enough for me to see. the brights have really good light output actually. I guess because the bright is not covered by that little bulb cover thats on the dim. I guess I could take that off for better output on the dim. Pics coming soon!

Second, I got an older Kenwood Cd player to replace my POS walmart head unit that only worked half the time. The Kenwood is awesome, needless to say, even though it is older. The sound is clear and crisp and the bass is a lot cleaner. I'm very happy with it. The problem we ran into was the Cd player had no memory when I turned the car off and turned it back on, it would erase all my settings and start the cd over from the start. My old Walmart player had memory. We ended up running our own wire to get it to keep its settings.

Third, the valve cover went great, I shaved it and painted it. I need a new gasket, I'll go ahead and buy that this weekend. The dumb f*cks at autozone wouldnt let me buy just a gasket, they want me to buy the whole set for 25 bucks! So I went to advanced auto and they had just the gasket and not the spark plug seals for 10 bucks. much better.

Sorry for the book, I'll probably turn this into kinda like a mini-blog. I want to look back one day on it and see how far this car has come.






My prayers also go out to Omar (aww shiet), it kills me inside to know that one of our CB7 tuner family members got his car stolen after so much hard work and money.
