I disagree with that 5mm spacer on stock studs statement.
Coming back home from the Midwest meet in Chicago, Mike(greencb7inkc) had some issues.
He has itr wheels, which we know, don't clear the front calipers on the cb7. To remedy that, he had 5mm spacers on the front. When we were nearly back to St. Louis, he had to pull over and was complaining about some weird vibrations.
When we looked at his car, we found the lug nuts were shearing themselves off the studs. The threads inside the lug nuts were stripping themselves out. Each lug nut only had 3 or 4 threads to grab onto each stud because of the spacers. His rear wheels with no spacers were perfectly fine. We put two stock steelies on the fronts and he hasn't had problems since.
Because of that experience, I won't trust ANY spacers at all on stock wheel studs.
I know plenty of people do and have run 5mm spacers with no problems though...I just thought I'd let you know what can happen.
