Originally posted by uncle_eljapan, as in jdm... they were available for vehicles there; the popular theory being that parking space is at a premium and much smaller than here, thus a power folding mirror at the touch of a button, to help fit into those spaces.00 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 V8 4X4

is anything really necessary, lol?
practicality:
living in downtown atlanta, there have been plenty of times where i want to fold my mirrors in, and i have to do it manually as i don't have power folding mirrors. it would be easier to do it at the touch of a button.
different/just because/"wow" factor/"what's that?":
not everyone in the u.s. has them, and thus you'll be unique. shawn has a coupe with power folding mirrors and that is indeed a rarity (coupe and sedan mirrors are not the same as the mounting points onto the door are different, and coupe mirrors are very difficult to find). it can be a starting point for people to inquire about the car, or for the owner to begin a discussion.
a modification that fits perfectly:
it is jdm, which is just oem in japan, thus you don't have to worry about ill fitting, non matching parts.
