Would you quit farting around and throw on some real engine performance mods already (i.e. camshaft atleast). Save your money and do it man. You have that nitrous atleast installed yet?

ill get the cam in when i get the money for a tune ill be sending my cam out to Delta when i get some money saved up. and no. i dont have any nitrous yet. still have to wait ive been working on trying to get the suspension and brakes right before i added more power. now that i have my suspension done, i just need my front brakes done and ill be ready for some performance mods engine wise.


when i get a chance ill send off this TB to maxbore.com for a 68mm bore and this spare cam i have to Delta for a regrind. once i get the TB back, ill port match it with the upper plenum. the cam wont get installed until i get money to get a tune. unless just upping the fuel pressure will help. lol.

Prob don't want to know, it's 250 for a tune with crome, and I think 300 for neptune. It's on there website.

with that price it probably wont be til next year that i get the cam installed and tuned. the p12 and 50 shot with the mods i have now will do just fine.

i wont be taking out a loan for mods. lol. i thought about that but i reconsidered it. and the MOST ive spent on this car is $700 MAX. wheels, tires, and other mods. thats including paint. lol. i dont spend much. i dont make much. so i have to find deals when i can. and trust me. yes its thats much. yall may not believe me but its the truth.

you've spent $2500 on your car alone this year. you should re-evaluate whats important to you. others, like Cisco, have spent $2k on the motor alone. no. sorry. i told my dad, i told myself, and ive told others. i will NOT put more than $2k into this car. thats suspension, exterior, AND motor. and i havent went over that. nor am i near it. nor do i plan on getting to it.

the rims and tires AND paint. hehe. $170. tires(brand new) $80. the rims we're $75. and the paint all together was about $20. like i said. i find deals. ALL the time.

the last stuff ill be doing to this car for a while is this:

-tint
-wagon rotors
-rear sway bar(found a ST bar for $100)
-maxbore TB
-nitrous(50 shot)
-delta 272 regrind
-and take my time with this paint

thats it. no major build where im pushing 300 NA whp. matter of fact, i might not even get the laughing gas because im loving the way my car is now. haha. i took it for a dirve and it runs so smooth. finally got it the way i want. just need a tad bit more pep. and the CAI extension ill be getting from Tony(which is FREE) will be one to the last coupe of steps i have left.

shadow i understand where you are coming from. its hard to build a car too were you want it with out money. its not always about money to do something. its all about word of mouth. you can find things along the way just by opening you mouth. i get deals all the time to make something happen. i got my LS swap, front/rear brakes from doing a swap, not by buying it. shadow do what you are doing keep it up. you dont have to have a flashy car to be comfortable. its all about what you have in your hands.

thats the right idea. yes i know someone is going to say, "larry has a flashy car and what not, etc, blah blah blah" but its all about money that it being allowed. my friend in NC that i always going to see is building a eg hatch. hes about to have a kid in less than a month. he wants to do a full suspension, wheels, brake upgrade and paint. he doesnt have much money cuz hes the only one working but he does find deals from time to time. spoken to him today and he was like i want vtec (dohc) but right now my d15 is doing his job and hes happy.

bottom line you dont have to have a fast car to be in the in crowd. aslong as your car is built correctly then you will be alright. ive redone the my whole car in less than a year and thats with money permitted. do what you can do with money that it allowed. be happy with what makes you happy but spend money wisely. it will pay in the long run.

man ive watched your build since i joined this site. lol. its taken you a while to get where you are. some people up here can do that in a few months. buts thats no fun. and yes. i do the stuff to my car money permitted. im not going to go out and buy credit card just to mod my car. i dont have a job where it pays $13+ an hour. so i cant dump money into my car like most do up here.


builds like yours, Ronald_Type-R, Jspec, all have taken years to complete. and thats putting money into it over time. i can understand that. but yall have the ability to do that. i dont. and for them to come in here and say what i should do and i dont have the money then say i need to re-evaluate my spending habits urks my nerves.

but you know. i aint worried about it. i know what i plan on doing with my CB and i know how much i plan on spending on it. thats all i need
