Hey Mike. I just want my car to be done and run and I don't want to have to dick around with it for a long LONG time.

OK, so after 12.5 weeks of waiting the Explicit Speed Performance traction bar and 3 point strut bar have arrived.

The wait was 2-5 times longer than estimated, however I do stand by their quality of work. Just holding these pieces and inspecting all the little tid bits, I really know these things are going to probably out live the car itself. The quality is phenomenal!

So it's been a while.... a LONG while, but it's finally all here (minus the rods, which were accidentally misplaced) My BISIMOTO sleeved block, balanced crank, rods, pistons, My bisimoto flywheel, my AEM EMS, and all my other goodies came in today.

It looks awesome! Words can't describe how beefy the cylinder walls seem.

Mad props to Hedi at Bisimoto for an excellent job.

Well, I've not been able to do just about anything lately. I've started stripping off the paint in the engine bay with a wire wheel and the hood. The hood is just about finished and I've cut nearly all the extra material off of the inside of the hood and rolled the edges down and welded it together. Soon I'll be painting the bay and hood black. But I've not been able to do anything with my block or wiring which is really frustrating. So this weekend I'd like to get it all painted.

SO, when I was hired with Great Wide Distribution Logistics we had a paint section on the shelves. It was covered with dust and never used. My boss at the time told me to throw out everything that we didn't use or need. So in my throwing things out I came across a blue HVLP gun made by BINKS. I kept it for myself after my boss told me to throw it out and it's just been sitting on my bed room shelf for a couple of years.

I just so happen to need the paint gun recently as I'm painting the hood and engine bay of my car. So I pull out the gun and start using it. I'm curious as to the settings so I look them up. The BINKS Mach 1sl HVLP gun sells for around 400-500 dollars a gun, without any paint cups or regulators or accessories.

Not bad for a FREE paint gun. Now if I only had some automotive paint instead of rust-o-leum.

So I've got the motor in, lots of stuff done.

What I need to do is:
                Adjust the valves
Drain and refill the transmission fluid
Extend some of the wiring harness
                Hook up the lights
                Add oil
                Install the cam seal cap

and other little odds and ends. I've just tack welded the exhaust up today. I'll go through and weld up the rest of it later tonight and the whole 3" exhaust will be done.

Sorry for the crummy picture, it's from a camera phone and the light and blurr isn't very good. The picture is WAY ago in terms of completion.

I got the exhaust system made up last night, with some cuts and swearing I came out alive. It's not "the best" but for free I think it came out pretty well.

                    It Runs!

                    IT RUNS

So I finished the engine wiring and the inside wiring. Got the fenders back on, headlights with HIDs installed, all the wires extended, and I took my old ECU (chipped with a map by D112czry) and plugged it in just to make sure it will try and start. That way when I get to the tuner I won't be paying them to diagnose a no start problem on top of tuning fees.

                    Well It started right up.

My wastegate flapper on my 16G exhaust housing is leaking though so I need to find a way to plug up the dump pipe.

I need to wire up the power for the PLX wide-band, I need to run the wide-band output to the O2 in wire on the ECU along with the ground, I need to replace my radiator because it has a hole in it, solder on a new single wire lead for the oil pressure switch for the head, and I need to get it tuned and aligned.

My last junk yard run is going to be tomorrow. I'm grabing a radiator, a wire for the oil pressure switch and the front bumper lights. Then I'm off to the tuner hopefully on Friday.

                        IT'S At THE TUNER!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm getting it tuned tomorrow but right now it's all ready to go. I feel truly euphoric! They complimented me on my build, said it would make an amazing sleeper when I get the turbo on, and reassured me that it'll go well without a hitch!

Get an extra set of spark plugs, if you don't have them already.

Sorry I didn't catch this thread sooner, but best thing you can do in regards to a dyno tune visit, is make sure your car has no issues other than needing a tune. This will waste the entire visit and they will charge a lot to diagnose/fix anything, if they accept to do so. Most shops are very busy and get irritated with this.

I didn't even know you had a build going. Impressive, a lot of work into it. Hope it rewards you for all the effort!

Well I cant tell if anything is working fine yet since its not tuned. the most I was able to do was start it on the old ecu and have it idle and warm up, no driving. It does start, idle and warm up perfectly, makes oil pressure, and no leaks. so i guess that works. lol They told me that they would go over all the base settings anyway before they start tuning.

Just a picture of the car at the tuner.

It's tuned. It's extremely weak since it's built for a turbo but has no turbo... lol

Kurt Borton tuned my car with a friend named Chris. He spent 3 hours on it and got it to idle good and drive well. The only things I'm finding out about the car is that it likes to come up in the RPM's and hover for a second or two before coming down to idling speeds, and my speedometer doesn't work. I'm fine with the RPM thing but I'd like a speedometer, I'm not sure if it's computer controlled or what not so I'm going to be looking that stuff up here in a bit.

My final numbers was 107 hp @ 5500RPM and 112lb. Tq @ 3500 RPM to the wheels. LOL it didn't have enough to do a 4th gear power pull. But the most important thing is this. After 1 year and 9 months, my car runs again, is tuned and all I need is to go to the DMV for the plates.

There is also an oil leak somewhere up top. I can't tell if it's the valve cover, the cam seals, or the head gasket I've got an extra cylinder head gasket so I'll probably hit all of them.

I'll get some pictures up some time.

I fixed my speedometer and reattached a ground for my windows.

My RPMs are doing something funky though. They will hang high around 3-4 K when I shift some times for 3-4 full seconds and when I'm in a gear every now and then the engine will try and pull itself up to a higher RPM like I'm slowly accelerating only my foot is off the gas. Anyone know what's going on?
