Eh I was bored and had an extra valve cover handly. I used paint stripper to remove the old paint and then use duplicolor metal cast. I sprayed it with around 3 coats and let it dry. I used a rotary sander to clean off the letters.

ive been thinking of doing this. I would sand it down, alot, then I'd use some kind of primer first, sand and wet sand maybe, then lay down a few coats of the final paint.
looks nice tho, needs a few more coats, but its nice.
