for some reason, a year after i get my 500 dollar paintjob done, it still shines pretty damn well and no more crackage.

yea, i might go in and get it painted white again becaus ei know this time i can do a better job in prepping and ill re-bondo the shaved embelm area sine i fudged up last time. plus i want to finsih up the lower window molding and spray it black.
the reason is because i can get it repainted for half the price and this time, it'll probably only cost 150-200 bucks.
oh and i painted the back bumper myself and it didnt turn out so good, lol.

i painted my car myself, and i must stay it looks pretty good the only part is because of my 16 year old weak arms the gun got kind of heavy when i was doing the roof and i let it hit the roof so theres a little line in the paint, but other then that it looks good
from that side angle you cant even tell that the back bumper is bad
sorry dont mean to threadjack!!

and what kind of prep did you do? primer and sand or just sand? that was wherei fucked up when i got my car painted. i didnt do any prep work, so the front bumper is chipped to hell.
ive been considering getting my car repainted, but i dont know what kind of prep work i should do before i bring it in. and i would be getting a maaco/miracle job... so all if any prep would be done by me.
btw, your car looks damn good. i didnt even know you had it resprayed. i just thought it was a cleanass car.

but yea, i primered the hood and trunk only. i dont think ill do it this time, just sand down to original primer.
i am debating to just wet sand by hand or use a power sander. my friend told me to use a random orbital sander because it prevents uneveness ont he surface. of course, i dont have one and it is probably expensive and not worth my time.
i got it painted at earl scheib in redwood city. pretty decent but i think they might have left it outside to dry, lol. it took really long to cure like now it doesnt exactly scratch or chip easily.
but i think they might of driven my car around and stole some of my pocket change as well.im gonna bring it to them with no corner/bumper lights, possibly tail lights, grill, antenna and take off the plates.
gonna have all the moldings sprayed on because their masking sucks balls.
