Amber Wagon Bumper Lights on a CB7 -photocritique plz
those are the 91 wagon bumper lights, pretty hard to find those lights, they're longer than the regular accord lights. They look really hot! My boy is doing it to his civic right now, pretty quick, 88 style completely stripped with an LS motor. The paint I used is from Krylon.
car itself looks a'ight... some paint chips on the hood and front passenger side quarter panel. but if that's how it is, that's how it is.
lots of lines... perhaps too many:
lines from the building on the left
lines from the stripes in the parking lot
line of the curb behind the car
line of the curb in front of the car
in the end the lines create a bunch of distracting frames.
not to mention the leaves in the front, the random white vehicle to the right, and the random red vehicle to the rear, as well as the puddle back there.
i understand that's how the car is, and that's where it's sitting... so, as a photo for yourself, i guess it's fine. but a photo for sharing, and trying to work with whatever vehicle you have, it's too busy.
taking the pic as is (outside the apartment), and working with it, some things that would help:
removal of red car (cloning out in a post processing program such as photoshop)
removal of white car (again, cloning out)
removal of the puddle
i'd leave the leaves, as the help to balance the heaviness of the building on the left side of the pic.
or, cropping the photo horizontally so that the white car is no longer in the picture, and the leaves still frame the right side of the pic.
yeah it was more of a pic for myself, as i did not use the viewfinder to take the shot, instead i used the LCD screen. I guess using the LCD screen really makes it harder for you to see the lines, i understand what you mean about the lines as they draw the eye to a different part of the picture. I was really aiming for the "hiding" type of shot but to be honest, i was happy at first but now that you pointed it out, i know what to improve on. Thanks uncle el!
As far as that chop i get what you're saying but a lot of what im aiming for is what i can actually capture with my eyes instead of changing the complete foreground and background of the picture. Anybody can photoshop a picture to look good [i have about 4 years experience in photoshop], but I feel that the one year photography class i took back in highschool wasn't enough and whenever i have a camera in my hands i always find it as an opportunity to capture something. Not to mention the fact that i REALLY need to get a tripod... and at least a camera of my own [im using my brother's, whom i am living with, camera]. It's an HP Photosmart 720.. not the best point and shoot camera but as it was said in the other post.. it's not about the camera.

More to come!
i found this to be a much more effective picture, just by cropping what you have already presented:
i simply cropped the picture below the white car, and to the right of the red car. further enhancement would be to clone out that patch of dirt behind the car and before the curb.
as far as photoshop... post processing shots is pretty much an industry standard. however, if you don't have a good original shot to work with, it's all for naught. photoshop & other digital post processing programs are the darkroom of today's digital age. however, if you can't take good shots, and do so consistently, there's not much tasteful enhancement that can be done to a shot.
