so what started as a simple brake job......

soon turned to major front end overhaul. here i am trying to figure out why on one side why the brake pads would not come out of the bracket. literaly i had to wage a screw driver in there just to take off the pads....

so i decided to take off the brackets and give them a good cleaning.

then i said since i am here why not change my lower ball joints... i mean i took the bracket off why not change them... little did i know but there was a big supprise waiting for me...

while taking the bearing off the knuckle a few bolts wanted to be stubborn. little did they know i was more stubborn, and here is the beginning of a saga.

so beeing left with my dick on my hand, i decided it was time for tas roh kit.

    and the finished product

but while i was waiting for the roh from tas decided to go under the car and check shit out.

at that time i saw something no cb7 owner wants to see

is that fucking rust under my driver's side floor????

so i decided to take take off the undercoat and the carpet inside to see how bad it was

    to be continued......
are we there yet are we there yet are we there yet

so decided to start cleaning shit out around the rust....

    front the inside...

pain in the ass... further more i decided that i didn't want to go into welding again. i did my qp and didn't come out so good since i was using a flux core mig welder. if i had a regular mig welder i would have been much more at ease with my self welding...

while going around a few body shops and finding out no one wants to do a welding job(apparently too much money in just changing fenders and bumpers) i decided to something else. earlier in the week i had found out by coincidence that for the past 3 years a long clucking noise that my white ex did while backing off, was a broken rear motor mount.

so did that for a whole day taking my time with it...

cleaning the intake manifold. wtf is all the gunk seriosly i was so fucking shocked that the intake manifold was like that.

one hour and two cans of throttle body cleaner, i finished cleaning the manifold.

seriously i need to do that shit on my dx... i think it is because of the cheap ass e bay filer that i haven't changed in a while now.

while waiting for no reason did something else.

the muffler hanger was snapped.... i have never seen something like this and not knowing what to do, i put my mind to work and called my paps for some fabrication work lol

so went to home depot and got me some steel L shape brackets

    took measurements

    and finished product

nothing like a little drilling and cutting, that wouldn't fix.

so i went to home depot and got some 18-20 gauge steel sheet metal. cut the rust out and welded that bitch in...

i think it looks much better than this

i wonder what is going to rust next. if i buy an other cb7 it will definitely be from down south with no rust at all... lol

the motor mount and the intake manifold, i did those on my other cb7.... but after seeing how bad they were and the wheel play that my cb has, i wouldn't mind taking of my im and clean it out and then check my rear motor mount.

i still can't believe how the fuck did the undercoating allow moisture/water get into the drain plug...

I bet fixing that rust hole brings a lot of piece of mind. All good mods to be doing.

Did you end up using your flux core again?

yep flux core again thats why the welds look like that....
i decided to buy a nice mig welder which you can use either as flux core or regular mig....
