Ok for those that have odd braking such as pulling to the left or right. Here is a simple way to avoid a $300+ repair
Note that bad brake caliper piston seals can go bad and cause similar braking problems or worse.
Stuff needed
Lithium Grease
14mm socket
17mm socket
gloves (optional)
1. I don't have pics of the begining process my car is in pieces carry on
start by jacking the car up and securing it on stands
2. Remove one 14mm bolt and flip the caliper up exposing the brake pads press the brake piston back in the caliper, pressing the piston back in after removing the pads will make it easier to reinstall the caliper over the rotor later. Also now would be a good time to check the brake caliper piston seal for leaks.
3. Remove the bracket and caliper a whole with a 17mm socket.
This is what you should have
4. Now remove the 14mm bolts that hold the caliper to bracket.
5. Now that you seperated the caliper from the bracket, you can pull the slider pin out of the bracket but be careful not to rip the rubber boots.
Here is where the slide pin is (inside the rubber boot)
Now the reason why they stick is because of lack of lube remember these are 18+ yr old cars
6. Clean both pins and the insde of the slide pin housing
Dry slide pins
Lubed slide pin
This grease is the shit
Reinstall. push the slide pin in till you hear the air release and you're done
Now drive by the mechanic or brake repair shop and give them the finger LOL jk.
