ENG: EXT: Make Your Own Grommet ( Plug )

OK, so for people doing wire tucks and people relocating thier fusebox, with will help for covering up the holes in the firewall.

    Tools/Supplies needed:

    A slab or Rubber
A marker or something to make visible mark
A knife or some sort (optional) or
Some sort of grinder, (dremel/bench grinder/drill w/ attachemnt)

First you take the slab of rubber(make sure its pretty thick) and you put it up to the hole on the firewall. Go to the other side and trace the outline of it with a marker or something.

I didnt have any help do i held it up with a hammer pushing against the shock tower(Adjust to whatever hole you decide to make this for, or get someone to hold it up for you).

After you get the outline of it, I cut around it, to make it roughly close to the shape. I then went ot a bench grinder, and smothed out the edges and whatnot.

You can do this however you like. Like you can make the incline for it to hold into the hole like ( / ), so its just pressure that holds it in, But i made a dent in there, so you can pop in in and out.

When you do this, check every time you grind some off, becasue you dont want it to be lose. You need to to be hard for it to get into place, becasue then it will hold moisture out and create a good seal.

After you get it all done and fitted right to fit your hole. you should have a relativley stock looking grommet ( plug ) to fill in the hole that effectivly does its job

Is it just me, or do these pics not seem to be appropriate for this DIY?
