i did this right when i bought the car, used model paint and an airbrush. it worked pretty well. i just took the wipers off. also, when doing this, dont forget to rotate the arm at the hinged joint to bring the wipers about 45* off the window. the arms have lock inside of them to keep the arms on, and this is how you open the lock. i wouldnt advise using a claw hammer like was posted above.
