OK, can someone please tell me the price difference, as well as the dB difference between the electrical aftermarket horns, and those that run of a compressor?
I'd love to upgrade my stock horn to get those old-farts attention when they're switching lanes right into me w/out looking, but I really don't want the added weight of a compressor on my car.
What's the best electrical horn I can get? And is it considerably louder than the stock horn??
    Thanks.

My CB7 is now ***FOR SALE***

The price difference is not that much depending on what you buy. Advertised db differences are similar between air/elec selling in the same price range. Also, you can get air horns with compressors that weigh like 2 pounds (http://www.wolo-mfg.com/) so weight isnt an issue unless you get something insane like according2me.

...I like the idea of a louder horn, but these are too high-pitched. I want a big-rig horn.

NO.. the stock horns are ok... electic 'magnetic' is louder but still around 100 DBs, the mini elec pump air horns are ok too loud tone but still around 110dbs a true Air Horn running off 140PSI runs around 170-190dbs.. way lound... and pricing goes 20-50 for ele.magn. 40-60 elec. pump and around 60-300 for air horns.it depends on wich one you get too...((single double tripple. stanard, Bigrig, train.)) mine is a big rig one.. 3tone 150psi ((runs off airbag tanks)) but a single gal. tank with a lil compressor is ganna run maybe 150-200 for everything but way worth it...

                Deadass thread revival! w00t!

I hooked up last night to my EDM headlight washer switch a set of truck-style twin airhorns. It sounds like a motorhome or diesel truck. The compressor IMO is wimpy and I would like to get one with a little more oomph to it. My Freeway Blasters are louder and higher pitched, but you can't beat the sound of a big truck airhorn.

It fit where the stock lower air box was at, but only just.

What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

this is what i need to do, THREE people yes THREE, cut me off today. One dumb bimbo came 3 lanes across the freeway into my offramp lane over the solid white line, then i reved my car since her window was open and sped away. I mean I don't know what goes on in these people's minds.

If I had a big horn like that I'd want it to sound like a big rig. I really don't care to get an air compresser tank and all that though. The electric ones, although louder, sound somewhat clownish to me. At least based on a sound clip from page 2.
