    EXT: Opening JDM FOGS (90-91)

So i thought to do this DIY because i was cleaning my fogs and noticed they were dirtier inside then they were outside

Couldn't find anything on this topic so here we go. Okay so as the title says this DIY is just to open your 90-91 fogs. What you do after that i leave to your imagination seeing as i just opened mine to clean them out.

This is my first DIY so bare with me.

This DIY is for instructional purposes only and its author (yours truly) assumes no responsibility if you damage your belongings or injure yourself while doing this. Happy modding!

    what you will need:

flat head screw driver (left handed) j/k
    Socket Wrench (Ratchet)
    8mm socket

    and you have an option

    option 1= Oven
option 2= hair dryer/ heat gun

Luckily for me my fiancee is a licensed Cosmetologist, and only uses high quality stuff. So i used a hair dryer

If you wish to use an oven, that part would be the same as the DIY's for Black housing JDM one pieces. They are plastic as well. That being said, the reason i didn't want to do that is because you can't take all the metal off the fogs. So you have to be careful not to melt anything!!!!!!!!!

Step 1 : Apply heat to the fog where the lens meets the housing. Its good to start in a corner and work from there. Be patient if you rush you WILL break something.

Step 2: Using your flat head GENTLY pry between the lens and the housing it will take a while. There are also 4 tabs holding the lens on as well. Push them threw the holes with your flat head.

go back to step 1 and repeat till you got them apart.

Step 3: there are two 8mm bolts on the back of the housing holding the reflector as well as the adjustment screw as seen in the picture below remove them to free the reflector.

Your done! the end result should look like this

thanks to my little helper my youngest Vanessa, she loves helping daddy

Good DIY, but just to clarify, those are USDM 90-91 fog lights.

cool write up. mine were so bad the light coming out was orange..why..rust to the 10th degree so bad I had to ditch those square bulb deflectors or what was left of them. I wound up just getting a can of chrome spray bomb and doing like 20 nice coats each. Helped a bunch..too bad theyre one their way out.

My bad guys... Maybe a mod. Can change the name for me? On a side note can any point out the differences between the jdm and usdm fogs so I don't make that mistake twice?

If I'm not mistaken JDM fogs have curved in glass, follows the bumper flow.
