EXT:Toothpaste Headlight Restoration

Things needed:
1.Toothpaste(Crest is the best)
2.Two towels(One to dry and one to wash)
3.Window cleaner of some sort



Step one:

Spary your window cleaner onto one of the headlights. Make sure to get it nice and wet



Step two:

Take your toothpaste and push out a nice line onto your head-light.




Step three:

Now with one of your towels start to buff the toothpaste around on the headlight and make sure too spary it with the window cleaner once in awhile. And depending how your headlights are you might have to push out for toothpaste onto the light and do it as much as you feel. Or till your tired lol



Step four:

Spary the headlight down with either water or the window cleaner. And with the other towel wipe away all the fluid and sit back and look at your brand new headlight!

Sorry I only have before and after pictures of the right light not the left. And you can also use a buffer.(much faster and easier lol). Enjoy and let me know if it works as well as it did for me

Ya it was 35 degrees out today so I was like wth ill do it. If you do it when its cold make sure too spary the headlight often so the toothpaste doesnt harden.

Its because my cellphone has a bad cam. But heres a video of it done on a civic. It took me 30mins by hand too get it real clear. A buffer is much better as i stated.

Ya i have the polish and it didn't do shit.

I know Honda does headlight restoration but they also clean out the inside....im not about to open my headlamps...too lazy and i don't have an oven/heat gun.

But ill give it a crack.

well if the inside is foggy then this wrote work. Its for the outside of the lens. But im sure it would work for the inside if you did open it.

you would get much better results using glass polish. later.

You should look up some of type-g's threads. You can use aluminum polish and then go back with plastic polish and it worked good for me. A buffer does help though.

This diy is for people that wants too clear up there headlights for 99 cents.

i have done this before and i can tell you it take 3-4 times on our headlamps because it is glass but civic headlamps are plastic so it only takes 2 runs. Moreover, glass polish or hell even chrome polish works much better. My thing is fake it till you make it.

I've used it on plastic headlight lenses and works quite well. They will eventually haze up again though, but it's a good quick fix.
