EXT: 92-93 Floating Accord Grill DIY**ONE OFF**

First off id just like to say that I did this because I wanted to be original and thought that by making this grill it would expand your minds in thinking that you have to have mesh in order to put an accord symbol on your grill

First there is a list of house hold tools that most of you should have laying around your house, Grill for stems for accord symbol, really you can use what ever you want I just so happened to have this stuff laying around, phillups screw driver, paint, sand paper, 2 part epoxy, small drill bit,a knife to score your lines on the grill portion. and some pliers with a cut off tool on them.

As showen above I have taken apart the gril There are a I think 12 screws holding the three sections together.


In the second Picture im showing an (EXAMPLE) of how to score the plastic, you can remove the center portion any way you like. I used a sharp knife to score the plastic, and then a small pair of plieres to clip the plastic off you should be left with something that looks like this

In the above two pictures I have showen what the grill should lookl ike on both sides, be sure to take your time as this is a pain staking process that you really only have one chance at!

Be sure to mask your Honda Symbol with tape, I used electrical, you can use whatever kind of tape you would like.


Sand everything smooth, the grill portion it self after the cuts you have made, the emblem portion, the bottom portion and your honda Symbol I got mine off the back of my car, you can go to the JY and get yours.

I used 320 Grit Paper to sand and painted everything In Flat Black.

I painted my Accord Symbol Gold, I think it looks pretty good but again you can paint yous whatever color you please,(NOTE) See the two bars hanging off the accord symbol, I epoxyed some steel bars on there to attache to the grill later.!

Then Once everything dried, I went to locate where I wanted my symbol to hang, this a pretty finaky part of the whole process to patience is a MUST.

I started off my marking where I wanted it to be with a pen, then drilled some small holes and set it in place using my plieres the expoxyied it in place for a ver permanant hold. Then re assembled everything in reverse order!

I dont know! My grill is a 1992 honda Accord Grill lol I have no idea what 9293 means whatsoever!

Looks flimsy. Why didn't you just leave a small part of the plastic that you gutted on the right side and glue the accord emblem there so it's sturdier? Anyway, props to your efforts.

I was worried about that also, but its very strong, I used two part epoxy and steel to hold it in place.

9293 = 1992-1993 Accords.
(Which is what that grill is).

90/91 grill are different than the 92/93.
