There's a clean way... you just need to be careful rushing is not a good idea. At the time, I didnt' care how my car looked. It looked like dookie anyway. Now I care, so I'll want to fix that this summer.
If you go to a shop, they're going to charge you over $100, and there's no guarantee that they can do it any cleaner. Just be careful. Perhaps cut the hole big enough with tin snips, and use a dremel to make that hole a bit more refined. Regardless, having some sort of tough tubing between the edges and the CAI would be good. Even a nicely cut hole will be sharp enough to slice the pipe when the chassis flexes.
