There's a clean way... you just need to be careful rushing is not a good idea. At the time, I didnt' care how my car looked. It looked like dookie anyway. Now I care, so I'll want to fix that this summer.

If you go to a shop, they're going to charge you over $100, and there's no guarantee that they can do it any cleaner. Just be careful. Perhaps cut the hole big enough with tin snips, and use a dremel to make that hole a bit more refined. Regardless, having some sort of tough tubing between the edges and the CAI would be good. Even a nicely cut hole will be sharp enough to slice the pipe when the chassis flexes.

Hmm this summer I guess ill rent a dremel from autozone. I'll cut the hole, then sand the edges I guess. Maybe use a glue gun or silicon sealant around the circle. Get the edges nice n soft.

hey guys instead of using a dremel, how about using a jigsaw with proper blade for metal?

I installed a cold air on my car and was wondering more about these vaccum lines. Can someone post up some pics of where they are and which ones need to be capped or what not. I have a 91 ex if that means anything.

              Just installed aem cold air

I just paid $120 at a shop to have mine installed last week. I sell Honda's and this is the 1st thing I've had to pay for so it was a bitter pill to swallow(workplace just went from country club to county ) Shop did a nice job. Took them a solid 2 hours. Noticed the car idles alot higher at times. A friend told me I need to take the packing out of my stock cat(or replace??) and upgrade muffler to eliminate the back pressure. Any thoughts??? BTW-my 1st post

so if i get the CAI made for the prelude, will i have this foam plugging stuff too as part of the aem instructions? i want the prelude one because i'll be swapping my f22 out anyway, so this one will work well with my current engine and then i'll have the proper intake for the h22 when i get it rather than having an accord intake hooked to a prelude engine...i hear the diameter is larger on the lude one.

                  this will work...right?

oh one more thing......what does this do in terms of winter driving? the panels i'm supposed to remove to access the part i drill......do i put them back after? or is it just left out in the open like in the picture? ie: i can just reach into the wheel well in front of the tire and grab the filter.....shouldn't there be some kind of protection from the elements? i don't think it'd be too cool running through slush and shit.....specially all the crap that'd get thrown up by my drive wheels. like if i reverse through a puddle and the whole thing is exposed...isn't that like...not good?

Tin snips is what I used basically. Cut where the fender ends and the flat space begins. Don't worry about it being a bit large, no one will notice it unless you want to make a show car.

where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

What do u mean by tin snips. I was thinking of just using some sharp scissors to cut it bit by bit to enlarge it. Will that work, or is that not possible?

Also, the guard underneath, do you folks leave it on as a guard or do you completely take it off? I would think leaving it off would be much better, but I rather not risk it.

Leave it on, and as for the scissors, unless they're made to cut metal, you're gonna fsck them up. The metal isn't TOO thick but it's still like sheet metal. Tin snips are like heavy duty scissors meant to cut through tin (of course) and you can use them in this case as well.
