ENG: D.I.Y front motor mount (Torque Mount)

after filling my mount with Windo-Weld Sealant and 1 month later having it melt, this is what i made,so far its been holding up great and looks way better then the stock mont, kinda after market. total cost about 35 bucks.i should of took picks when i was actually making it, sorry guys

    parts neede
1-tractor top link bar (short) stock mount is around 1ft long (tractor supply)

    2-1/2 washers (tractor supply)

4-rubber stoppers got these at osh forgot the size but the bigger ones are the same size as the washers, other 2 are for the bottom part so they wll need to be smaller sized,i used some bushings i had laying around so i wouldnt know what size

you will have to cut i belive 1 1/2 off each side of the cylinder and bout 3" off the bolt from the cylinder, u can do both but i did one since i used a hack saw to cut them and my arm got tired.

this is what you shoul have

you can also paint it to give it a nicer look or polish it

now you ar going to trim off some (FAT) off the rubber stoppers so that they will go in smooth when you have everything on the mount support.i heated a bolt to make the middle holes on the rubber stoppers

i put the washers at the end of the rubber stoppers

now for the bottom part u will aslo need some rubber stoppers i had some small bushings laying around i just cut the sides of them to make them fit

    finish

Sick man. +1 rep for u.

Its cool u have a mount considering h22 swaps don't use a front mount.

Maybe a h22 in a Civic or a turbo h22, but an "h" swap in an accord uses the front mount.

Perhaps I didn't pay attention. Could've sworn it was the trans mount rear and side only.

Id highly suggest putting loctite on the nuts. they will vibrate loose.

So your mount wont let the engine rock front to back?

A naivety of living in TX my whole life:

Not everyone has a Tractor Supply Company. Well, now I know.

For the sake of story time I actually shocked my mom with a cattle prod in that store when I was a sophomore in high school. I had no idea it was working as I just picked it up off the shelf. Needless to say she was pissed. My mom's tough, though, and she'll laugh with me about it today. Funny story.

Anyway...great DIY. I'd like to see some long-term reviews on how well the rubber holds up in that application.
