I did not make this DIY, but after searching every where for 2 weeks, I finally found some thing that I could use. Perhaps this write could help some one else also.
First let's distinguish between the 2 brands of starters that are used in our CB7. Denso vs Mitsuba. Mitsuba's solenoids, when the contacts are bad, you must replace the whole solenoid. The Denso's solenoids, you can replace the contacts and also the plunger which you could buy the whole kit for $10 on Ebay. Last weekend I rebuilt another Toyota's Denso starter.
