You need to go back and edit the first post. Right now it says that this is going to help your engine run cooler, improve throttle response, etc. (??)...

However, you recognize that is not true now that you have thought about it a little bit more.

The truth is, you are going to keep the engine bay cooler, possibly.

What in the world is stopping you from fixing that first post? Do you know how to use the [EDIT] button which appears at the bottom of every post?

Fix it, so you can stop misleading people who are inclined to believe things that sound very exciting like this thread of yours...

Forgive me if I'm wrong, I'm not trying to put you down, but rather to just make a suggestion. Rather than using super glue, as I believe there is a possibility of the glue breaking...wouldn't it be stronger to weld the washers together? I know not everyone has the ability to do that, but for those who do...

why? you dont even need to glue them.

you guys are making this more complicated then it is.

get longer bolts, throw some washers under them.

The glue is only to hold the washers together until the bolts are installed and tightened. After that, they can't go anywhere. It could be Elmer's school glue, it just makes less little parts to handle while you have the hood flopping around as you try to line things up and wrench them down.

ah hah...i thought about that after, but figured whatever...lol. I still think I might weld it (if I do the mod ever...), just "in case" of any little movement of the washers...just so that they look like a uniform piece. Anyway, nice DIY

couldn't you take the bracket off the car and do it all on the ground???? then just re-bolt the hood brackets back onto the car itself

                  pointless mod

after 10-15 mph the temp in the engine bay reaches the same temp as outside air

                  this does nothing at idle

                  thus this is pointless

it will do nothing but push air into the engine bay under the hood instead of running over the top, more likely it will increase wind resistance...and SINCE air temps in the bay and outside equalize after 10-15mph, this is pointless.

You do realize that honda makes their vehicles damn efficient? It's your car do what you want...but I rank this right up there with all the other "ricer" mods like unplugging your fuel pressure regulator...this is a ricer mod...and it is pointless.

the point of the super glue is to make sure that the washers dont come apart in the process of sticking them between the hinges and chassis as i said because i tried just putting them underneath and aligning and that didnt go so well the 5 times i tried

and if it where pointless why in the hell would tuner shops even sell these spacers???

Are you serious? You have got to be kidding me...don't get all ethug on me HA HA HA, you need to relax, when someone gives their opinion you can't get your panties in a wad...

Check it out...learn a little yourself
                              1. "tuner" shops also sell underglow kits, nasty loud mufflers, etc etc...just because a shop sells it doesn't mean it's any good. See, they seel bullshit stuff hoping some moron will come along and buy it, then he tells his buddies, who also don't know any better, and they go and buy it...they make a profit like this...however, folks who have some experience with cars can see through this kind of stuff cause common sense will prove many bullshit mods and claims false.

                              2. I don't need to look into this "mod" my experience speaks for itself...why don't YOU, on whom the burden of proof lies, give some proof instead?
-if you have been on this forum for a while you would know that I personally will take back what I say IF I am proven wrong, I give my opinion...you don't like it? don't post or, keep your cool and don't look like an ass-hat and simply prove me wrong...simple as that.

                              3. If you can't stand people giving their opinions, especially when their opinion is #1 professional, #2 based on experience, or just different from yours, then get off of forums...not everyone is living in your dream world and will agree with you...take it like a man, not a crying baby.

As for "where's your diy" try searching, you'll find one by me...but what is that supposed to prove? It STILL doesn't make this a worth while mod even if I do/don't have a diy post...you're just lashing out...so chill.

finally, no this is not just about "people who want to" because you are posting this as if it were some worthwhile mod, as if it did some amount of good. It does not, so before you go getting pissy, you need to watch it and not post up bullshit misinformation like this.

                              in conclusion...let's review.
                              1. chill out
                              2. prove your statements, and this mod
                              3. not everyone will agree with you, how you take criticism reflects on your character...
                              4. tuner shops sell LOT AND LOTS OF SHIT, doesn't make it legit.
                              5. dont get pissy when someone disagrees with you, most people learn this in middle school...when you get there I guess you will too...
