You'll probably need two, unless its a 4-1 header.

Alright, I bought this stuff just now. I can't believe how hot my engine bay is after a drive, so this stuff should do wonders esp. here in AZ where its 100+ like half the year. Cost me about 50 bucks though...so it aint cheap exactly. But i got those snap straps a pack of 12 whatever...maybe someone could use the left over which i'll prob. have, and 2 packages of the 2 inch wide by 15' long wrap for the tubes.

There you go, looks like your set. You probably will benefit more than I would up here in Washington.

Well, I finally got around to doing it...btw, I definitely recommend taking the header out and doing it outside of the car...doing it in the car would be really difficult. Took me about 2 hrs since I took my time and had to be creative wrapping the part where they merge together.

I present you....my newly wrapped header:

And here's the supplies I needed:

-two rolls of 15' by 2" wide exhaust insulating wrap (I only used about 19' of it though
-Snap Straps I bought a box of 12 but only 6 were needed
                -measuring tape
-needle nose pliers to pull the tape through tight clearances
-scissors to cut it to size
-latex gloves (this stuff is like bare fiberglass so it'll irritate you skin if you don't wear these)
-pan of water to make tape more pliable
TOTAL COST..............50 bucks....you don't need the big pack of snap straps or THAT much tape though, so you could prob. get this done for 30 or so

cool man, my header will be here shortly so I was planning on wrapping it outside of the car anyway.

I was wondering on my way home today...when you spray your engine down with a hose, I am assuming you don't want to get the wrap wet right?

well they said its okay to spray it w/ a garden hose whenever you want to clean it. Just nothing high pressure or anything. And I opted not to spray the wrap w/ that protectant b/c well, I live in AZ and moisture isn't a problem lol. He said as long as you drive your car everyday, the moisture will dissipate anyway.

But I can't believe how effective the wrap is. Minutes after I shut my car off today, I was able to touch the header w/ my hand and not get burned! Its pretty amazing stuff. It withstands temps of up to 2000 degrees.

just wrapped mine last night. Took about 45 minutes to an hour. Once again I used the 1"x50' roll. I actually needed to un wrap and re wrap it a couple times because I guess I wrapped them too close to each other or something. Whatevs. Either way, it is all wrapped up, and tomorrow I will install it. Hopefully the thing doesn't un ravel haha.

btw, don't itch poison ivy with fiberglass on your gloves...I had a rough night haha

i failed to see where it told me to wet the wrap.. in all reality that would have probly really helped the process.. considering it sucked to do.
Another point that would have helped is if i had wore rubber gloves, i was picking fiberglass out of me for days.

This took me 6 hours to do, and i was able to do it with not fasteners, which was my plan.
here is a before photo, then after, then after i put the high temp 2000 degree sealer over the wrap.

looks nice! yeah it said it on the box to wet the wrap lol. I just quickly ran mine through a bucket of water, holding one end and zipping it through, I didn't submerge it for that long maybe a second or so.

is sealer highly recommended? i have been reading around and most install guides use high temp sealer to keep the water out. Where can i get some?
