    Tightening steering rack?

My '92 Accord wagon (108K miles) has a pretty sloppy feeling steering rack. Unless the bushing are torn or the fixing bolts loose, I would assume it is worn tie rod ends.

On my CRX, there is an adjustment on the manual rack to tighten up the meshing of the pinion to the rack.

Is there any such adjustment on the power-assisted rack on the 4th gen Accord?

I dunno if this could be the problem on my Cb7. whenever i hit a bump, i hear a loud banging noise from the steering wheel and seems to shake and jerk easily.

Rack guide adjustment *might* assist you.
Thanks! That's exactly what I was thinking off. I wouldn't have seen it under the "gearbox shield" cover just hunting around under the car.

look on the backside of the rack ont he driver's side and there should be a big bolt head and locking spindle nut.

its near the hard lines. usually if it needs adjustment, it is ready to be replaced. mine does the same thing and it is poo poo.
