Prelude shifter assembly problems not sure of the shift.

Okay now I installed my shifter assembly off my accord into my prelude. Now the thing is Im not sure why of the shift now I know the blots dont line up so i took the bolts off the assembly and continued on.

First I took the old accord shifter assembly out and took the prelude assembly and put that it by sliding in the bolt so that it only lines up at the top right the rest of the holes dont line up all that great. So i tried putting a bolt through the rest they wouldnt work cause its at an angle the way the bolts line up. Now I filled in the rest with some plastic wire ties.

Now it holds in without all the shimmying now my release bearing is now fucked up but thats what happened before when I got my engine swapped now thats done now its fucked again because of a non expert installing it. Now Im going to a proffessional to do the shit right. Is there anyway I can get it to hold if modify it without any accessive drilling. I like the way the shifter sits.

I'm sorry if this comes off as a flame but why the hell did you get rid of the Accords shifter? The Preludes shifter in my opinion offeres you no advantage. Maybe a smaller shift lever but I don't see how that helps, the seats in the Accord are farther from the shifter then in the prelude so the lever has to be bigger. Unless you enjoy strecthcing.

I would put back your Accord shifter and quit complicating things. The more things you change the more opportunity you have for problems to develop. If you want to shorten your shift throw then buy a 4bidden shift lever or do the DIY short shifter. I did the DIY and although it isn't a perfect science I did see some positive results. But I expect some complications as with any non-standard modification.

I tried that already this is what happened to me. I had that shortshifter bracket crap in my accord. And I put some loctite on it.

When I went to take it off I think thats where I fucked up cause of the actual dissasembly I have tried to do by taking off the bolt it tore the whole thread lining with it. There was nothing I could have done. I was tryin to take the acepilot shortshifter bracket off cause when I put it in firth it scraped up against the console I hated that shit.

So I took the prelude assembly and put it up there It works fine now BUt the shifter is nice I done know what your talking about but I dont have to reach for it. I like it cause the height of the shifter is shorter and the throw is slightly shorter.

The Prelude's center console sits higher and the shifter closer to the drivers seat, That's why the shifter is shorter.

I just did the DYI shifter and it's worked fine till now. Haven't had any problems. It would be nice to have a 4bidden one but it's not necessary.

I see what you are saying but if you think about it, If you where to do that and then get a 4bidden short shift lever then your throw would be even shorter AND it would not rub the center console.

With my DIY I have it so the throw is a short as possible without hitting the console. Still a huge improvement.

I would have never thought to flip that plate like that but it seems like a good idea.
