driver's side door wont unlock sometimes (using keyless entry)

about once a week, when i go out to my car and press the unlock button on my keyless entry, the passenger side unlocks, but the driver's side will stay locked.
so to get it unlocked, i either have to go into the passenger side and open it by hand, or use the key from the driver's side. (even pressing the keyless entry several times wont solve it)

i found out that when im inside the car and i press the power locks to unlock the door, it wont open it either.

i think i might start by taking off the door panel to lube the parts, but besides that, what could be causing this problem?

deffinately the power lock actuator mechanism(made of plastic gears) has failed. either replace the whole thing or simply McGuyver it..

mine did kinda the same thing. mine would not unlock sometimes but it was both sides, it turned out to be the little control unit in the drivers door so i took it apart and the solder was cracked so i soldered it and its all good now
