I don't know if you are looking at getting that or not, but I would not. For one thing I have no idea how it would tell you when to shift, other then some sort of time delay, which would not be good at all. And taken from their website:
STRI Electronic Shift Indicator with Red LED shift light. Fully universal for manual or automatic with adjustable brightness control and adjustable shift point setting.
This tells me that they probaly don't care what or to who they sell. Though I have never dealt withthem personaly, that is just the impression it gives me.

It aint real unless you have to wire some shit up. Cigarette lighter stuff is crap IMO. Wire it up and get a "real" signal.

It gauges your RPM from the signal in the cig outlet, the shift point it set by you.

              u sure?

edited: hahaha i highly doubt our cigerette lighter can do that..if it did...all of us would have that for our convience rather than what others have on now.

I'm thinking it probably works just fine, as long as you know your shift point and set it correctly. If they can give you a little box (http://www.gtechpro.com/ss.html) that plugs into your cigarette lighter and figures out your hp, 60ft, 1/8, 1/4, g-forces, blah blah blah, certainly this little shift light is possible. I don't think it's the way I'd go though.

this technology has been used for years by your mechanic.

why don't you just learn how to learn, drive, and fucking shift your car..

                              what a waste of money.
