What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

I drive with the sport button around town most often. It let me downshift to the lower gear till 6000RPM in any gear. That mean If I'm crusing 30 mph in D4 that 4th gear at about 2000RPM, with the sport button on and I floor it, the tranny will downshift to 1st gear at 5300RPM and hold it till 6000RPM and upshift to 2nd gear and hold till 6000 to shift until 3rd and 4th. with the sport button off, it will downshift to 2nd and hold till about 5000RPM.

I guess with a camshaft and valve train upgrade and a chiped ECU, we can make the auto shift to any gear and hold it till new redline of 7000RPM. so that mean you can floor it from 40mph from any gear and if the engine speed of 1st gear has not pass the sport button reprogramed say at 6800RPM then the tranny will kick down to 1st and burn some rubber.

COme to think of it, U will also need a tranny upgrade from levelten.com or else your tranny will die quick like this.

      Just my opinion, 2 cent

yes it wil use up more gas, since u will be 3/4 to full throttle most of the time. But that just me the sport button is not design for fuel economy, it meant to be hard driven around town

Why did Honda do away with the "Sport Mode" button on the 92-93?

I think we at the board came to the conclusion that being at WOT will shift just the same...and for the accords' target audience it was unneccessary and potentially causing some confusion for the owners.

where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

I agree that both WOT and "sports" mode does not make a difference in performance. We have a 91 SE automatic and it seems to pull the same mashing the throttle or in sports mode.

in sports mode if im not at full WOT the tranny stays in gear a bit longer and stays in the lower gear if im in a neighborhood so that it can pick up better.

but thats at NOT FULL WOT

i just do it so i dont have to mash it, i just press the button and it gets up a bit higher at normal acceleration cause it shifts longer =)

Are you restating your question? Or admitting defeat in the search for an answer?

I would say it was removed because it was unnecessary

ok, i'm going to add my useless .02 I keep hearing people say that theres really no diff in performance between the sports mode and regular settings, I notice a huge difference, other than smoother transitions between gears while driving 30-40mph (instead of the constant shifting when in regular setting), I reallly pick up a lot more speed while I'm in "S" mode...theres clearly a big difference here, what we need to do it put 2 cb7s headsup, both with the "s"mode on, and then one run with the "s" mode off, then only run one cb7 with the "S" mode on...see what happens, I bet you the CB7 with the "s" mode on will smoke its competition.
list of my mods: suicide cup holder, arm rest stolen from fold down arm rest in the backseat switched to the front!: custom RUST and DENTS:: removed heat shield...lmao...I hate being a stock noob...don't worry, I'm learning FAST!!!!!

Seems to me, if they are both WOT, they will run the same...but thats just a guess, no facts behind it.
