    No heat, 93 EX

Got a problem with my girls 93 EX and I just want to know if there is anything I might be overlooking. The heater cord to the hot water valve is disconnected so I have to move the valve manually. I did so, in both directions and the hot side gets only a lil bit warm. So, I fill antifreeze up top the top, also the reservoir. Also, I changed the thermo back in August, OEM Honda. I have no clue left except evaporator, heater core. I am asking if anyone knows of something I may have missed or not checked. I jsut changed my blower motor in my 91 and it was a bitch so I know the heater core is gonna be worse. Anyway any help is appreciated.

If your heater valve is not opened to the correct spot, it will not blow as warm either.

So you opened your heater valve manually did coolant pass through and come out the other side? Make sure the other hose gets warm too if not maybe your heater core is clogged. The evaporator wouldnt have anything to do with it thats part of the AC system. Another thing to check is the climate deal sometimes that craps out.

Yes, manually opened and I am not sure if coolant came thru the other side as I cant see through the hose. But like you said I gotta check if both hoses are getting hot, thats what I forgot to check, could also not only be the heater core thats clogged but could also be the radiator, and still give me a good temp reading. Thanx man, and I didnt mean to say evaporater, mistake, Chill

yeah im having the same problem i was told to check to make sure no oil or dirt/debree is on the heater core fins! which is a task in itself, so if im gonna do that ima just replace it!

anyone ever did one before without taking out the dash? i think you can go through the instrument cluster (removed)? hhhmmmmm.....not sure though!

You dont need to osee through the hose. Just feel it to see if its gettin hot. If it is that means coolant is passing through. If it isnt then your heater core is most likely clogged.
