I don't think they have to be replaced often, if ever for most people. If you use a stethoscope on each, they should all have a similar sound. I think it would be better to get them cleaned by one of those companies that does it.

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

yea, ive gotten them cleaned before
but cleaning can only go so far
after almost 17 years of wear and tear, i would like to know when i should throw in a new set.
there was this guy who had an 01 Cavalier and he said his car accelerated MUCH more smoothly.

        Yep....his were dirty/plugged.

10% more flow will help if you're at your lean limit.

The only way to find out if they are "wearing" out would be to flow test them and see if they are still at stock rating. Sometimes the symptoms are easy with the injector not opening all the way, not opening at all, or its sticking those are common causes.

i dont know if im leaning out
            and for the flow tests...
assuming that my injectors were never cleaned or replaced for almost 17 years, wouldnt that be good enough reason to replace them?
or should i just wait until i rebuild my engine and do it all at once?

that kinda sucks though, waiting until they break and having the car give me trouble.
anyone here have theirs replaced yet?
                  and at how many miles?

I'm at 246,982 miles. Original injectors.

At an average of 25mpg, that means each injector has sprayed 2,470 gallons of gasoline, which, at current gasoline prices of $2.90 for regular, equates to $7,163 dollars worth of fuel per injector.

                    Wow, that was useless.
