weird high pitched noise after 45mph

so I just threw in my new tranny cause my other one decided to chew itself up. anyway after I put in the trans and clutch etc took it out for a test drive. on my way home from the shop I was getting on the freeway I hit 45mph and I started hearing a high pitched like whining noise like you get when you hook up a stereo wrong and it makes that whining noise when you accelerate and drive anybody understanding yet? anyway I was like wtf so I turned off my deck and took the faceplate off and its still making that same noise only 45mph and faster. It never did this before I put this new trans in and it never did it after I hooked up my deck.... wtf its soooo annoying

hmm you do have a manual trans right? i think you do.

its NOT electrical noise is it?? can u verify that its not electrical and its coming from the trans...??

it only does it when 45mph and above?? no whining while reving/neutral or under 45mph?

yep i do have a 5spd, and it does it when im cruisin at 45mph or over even when i throw it into nuetral. it sounds like an electrical whine to me and i dont have an amp and subs or nothin just a plain jane deck that has been in the car for a while and has NEVER made that noise till i swapped in my other 5spd.

      Specs:

      5spd

      45mph or over = whine

45mph or over in nuetral = whine

      dead stop = no whine

      revving = no whine

stereo ON & OFF = no whine

just swapped out an old 5spd for a new 5spd = start of the whining problem

the whine sounds like an electrical whine.

      no whine under 45mph

once i hit 45mph its a "progressive sounding" whine like it gets louder up until about 55mph then its a steady tone no change in sound

ninja edit: SM your car is gorgeous in person

check your electrical grounds, I say.

that seems to be what caused my electrical whine which was similar to yours.

There should be a ground around the trans look for that one.
