    Power Steering Issue

Ok, First of all, this isn't on a cb7, it is an h22 though, thats why I'm posting here. I was changing the a/c and alt belt on my h22a4, so i had the p/s pump disconnected and flipped out of the way (the hose going to the reservoir was still connected, but everything else was disconnected (pressure hose, and belt).

I finally got the alt belt to stop squealing (that was the issue to begin with), so I put the p/s pump back on and connected the belt and everything. I lost some p/s fluid so I filled it back up (yes, with the correct fluid). Ever since then, its been whining like fuck everytime I turn. The only time its not whining is when I turn the wheel all the way to the left or right.

The pressure hose does have a slow leak, but I didn't think that would make the pump whine (it didn't make it whine before I messed with it). So wtf is wrong?

Please tell me I don't need a new pump, that shit is 269 where I work (Checker Auto).

You might of caught some air in the line you need to bleed the system.
    I need a 14b or 16g turbo!

there are two questions I have to ask u. did u use honda power steering fluid? and did u bleed the system? honda require u to use honda power steering fluid and if u don't u can kill a power steering pump in no time. Now to bleed the system u have to fill the container with fluid and turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and right 40 times.

Like zay386 said take the cap off make sure it is filled to spec and turn it lock to lock at least 40 times check the resivoir for bubles if they are still there then repeat. On a side note its easier if you jack the car up and get the wheels off the ground.

Well, I just tried it, and it didn't do jack shit. I took off the pressure line while the car was running, and naturally it started spewing fluid out, it was pretty clean at first, but then it was blackened and nasty. I bolted the pressure line back on, poured more fluid in again, and the whine is worse then before...

              Now what?

Yeah, they were really fine bubbles, almost like soap suds. I am not sure if it actually is air in the system though, I've been driving the car almost 2 weeks like that. I think the air should be gone by now, shouldn't it?

yea u mujst have a leak somewhere or maybe even it could be that your belt is not tight enough try that also it sound a bit simple but you'll have no idea how simple things can cause a big problem.

Not unless you make u-turns all day long. You need to do it again if there were bubbles in it. If after you get all the bubbles out you still have a whinning noise your pump is on its way out.

Well I have a leak in my hose... so I probably need to get that fixed. Does anyone know where I can get one, besides the dealer? Checker and Autozone don't carry em...

Besides the junkyard there is a place called Hose Power off of Ajo and CountryClub I have had many hoses done by them from A/C lines to Stainless fuel lines to high pressure hydraulic lines and they are pretty cheap to give you an Ides I paid 65 bucks for a 3/4 thick hose that was about 18in. long
