    motor mount brcket

Hi, I was curious as to if the rear motor mount bracket is the same from a F22A auto/manual and a F22B (swapping in now) manual bracket. And is the F22A bracket the same from auto to manual? I'm not finding a lot on this. Thanks guys.

The f22a and f22b brakets are the same as far as the difference between the auto and manual is the auto braket has a dampener on it and the manual does not.
    I need a 14b or 16g turbo!

Alright, I've heard that there are several different rear motor mount styles used on the CBs. When I try and reuse the old motor mount bracket the motor sits way too low and hits the cross member. The motor mount that I have has a vacuum line coming from it and is kinda beefy. I've installed the explicit speed performance solid motor mount kit.

Do I need to get a mount off of a manual accord for things to be aligned correctly?

Are you using the f22b brakets with the f22a mounts if so that might be your problem. Also I just found this out if you have a lx/dx mount you need a lx/dx bracket and if you have an ex mount you need an ex bracket. They are not interchangeable

you are using the bracket for the automatic, this will not fit on a manual.

I believe riceraccord may be correct as to the rear mount (next to firewall) on the EX being different...but I'm not sure...I just took the intake plenum off an LX that had leather and all the niceities of the EX...but I didn't pay attention to that bracket.

            1. The mount with the vacum line is from the auto.
            2. The 5spd is much shorter and no vacum line.
            3. Is your car auto?
            4. If it's auto are you doin a manual swap as well, or just the motor swap?
            5. Is your solid mount kit for the auto or manual? I don't think they make one for the auto.
            6. If you're keeping it auto you need to use an auto rear mount, and the tranny side mount is different on the manual also, you need to use your original.

If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacement anyway.

              Ok, to answer the list.

              1. YES.
              2. Correct!
              3. It WAS.
              4. It was a auto and I am doing the manual swap with F22B DOHC.
              5. It is a manual kit from ESP.
              6. I'm using the manual transmission with the mount kit. It fit perfectly with no drilling or tapping.

I'm having trouble finding a rear bracket in the local junk yards. I though that the motor mounts were different but the local Honda dealership told me that the brackets were the same. Any who, this is good to know. Time for me to star looking for a manual bracket. Thanks guys!

The brakets are the same, beside a small ext. is bolted to the auto that attaches to the tranny.

You need to use all manual mounts. The mount on the tranny side thats welded to the frame is different in the auto, you will need to remove it and replace it with one from a manual (best option). Or buy the aftermarket mount that is made for the swap, not sure who makes it but there are a lot of guys on here who has it.

The tranny side mount makes the engine sit higher on one side and that makes its hard to line up the rear mount and is not good for your axles. Some of the guys use shims in the driver side mount to level out the engine.

I'm going to get some pictures up in the next few days. It will probably be easier to see what I'm working with than trying to explain it. I'm using the Explicit Speed Performance CB7 auto to 5 speed conversion transmission mount.

I've removed the extension from the auto rear bracket and it looks very close to the intake manifold. Looking at the motor mounts on the engine and then the bracket on the back, they all seem to be level. --- --- ---. While the brackets in the car and rear motor mount seem to be more of a --- ___ ---. This probably sounds dumb how I'm trying to explain this but I'll get some pictures up and maybe this will help.

This is all I have to do to get the motor in the car, everything else is ready to go!

I never used the ESP, but it sounds like you need to loosen all the mounts, have someone rock the motor forward while you slide the bolt thru the rear mount.

Well, I've spent the cash and just ordered a new mount bracket from HONDA. The dang thing cost 70 bucks. but at least I know it will fit. I wouldn't have had to rock the motor forward but backward to get everything lined up. And if I did do that, my engine bay would look like it had some birth defect... I kinda don't want this.
