    Clicking noise when turning right....

First of all, I would like to say hello to everyone, I have not posted in a while. OK... When I am driving my 90 5-Speed and make a right turn (under power) I get a clicking noise coming from the front left part of the car. It sounds like the ever familiar CV Joint click, but I have replaced the CV Axle twice now and there is still a clicking noise. What else should I look for? It does not make this noise if I have the clutch in and make a turn, only when under power. Would it maybe be the 1/2 shaft?

    Thanks,
    Ken

    you probably have a DUD...

even though that boot MAY NOT be ripped...probably doesn't have enough grease to lube the balls inside the axle.

but yeah...it could be either...the axle or the wheel bearing...

jack up the car..and check for movement ( wobble ) 9 and 3 or 12 and 6 positions..

if it wobbles..its a bad wheel bearing along with your axle.

my stepdad has a 92 EX coupe...and he had this EXACT problem...he thought it was his axle...NO..come to find out...it was his axle nut..the cotterpin SOMEHOW snapped...and the wheel bearing got fucked up..and it started POPPING AND CLICKING...( NOT THE CV HALF SHAFTS )...

    so check your axlenut

    hope you get her fixed!

Yeah what he says is correct, but another thing is: if you bought your axles at autozone/checker, expect to be switching axles out more often then OEM. Sometimes when we got those in they would come in all messed up, and they got returned all the time.

Now, lets say I just say to hell with it and just kept driving, ignoring the noise, what could I expect to happen?

        Thanks

Im doing that RIGHT NOW..because of money problems...

both sides are clicking ( will replace ASAP ) "Mulberry CB"

          what is going to happen...is...

the balljoints inside will dry up ( heat expansion )...and cause the car to ON OCCASION stiffen up...causing it not to move...and cause your car to stall ( happend to me 5 times already )

when it gets completely dry...the car WILL NOT move....and if you force it ( gas it )...you will end up breaking the joints from inside the housing of the CV joint...it will literally snap and separate from the hub/knuckle..and your car WILL NOT MOVE ( Driverside )....seemingly, the car's power is driven through the driverside of the transaxle rather than the passenger side...so..if you end up breaking a cv axle from neglect of replacement...pray its not the driverside.

you asked..and I told you the truth!

just dont want to hear anything bad happen to my CB family! thats all...so get those axles replaced at the same time!

if you have the money..get HONDA OEM axles! ( expensive ) but wont go out like cheap ( autozone...advanced auto...etc..etc ) axles will.
