    H22a WTF the deal?

Man this thing is pissing me off. I have a 92' EX 4 door w/ 93 H22a. Ok this stuff has happened within the past week and a half. First I was on my way to work and it died. I figured out the distributor rotor was melted. 2 days later it died again figured out that the distributor bearings were bad, fixed that. Then it was running like shit and had no power. I adjusted the timing with the distributor, ran fine for a day or 2 and then it started throwing me codes like crazy there was like 6 of them.

EGR valve (has been on since I bought the other car with the H22 in it)
    IACV
    VTEC pressure switch
    Ignition Output Signal
    Crank Position sensor
    Cylinder sensor

So, I did some research. I found out that I could clean my IACV and EGR did that and reset the ECU. Now it only shows 2 codes.

    EGR
    VTEC pressure switch

the weird thing about the VTEC pressure switch is that my VTEC works. Anyway since I cleaned those things it really runs like dog sh*t. I can barely keep it running when I stop at lights. I changed the spark plugs and it still runs the same. WTF is the deal?

    Thanks,
    Will

Alright. I have no clue about your problems, but I have a couple questions.

      1. I noticed your user is JDMcbCHIC, yet you signed your post Will. Is Will short for something? Or are you just using someone else's user?

      2. Your listed as being just over in Grandview. Why don't you come meet up with the rest of the KC crew?

      3. You're listed as joining back in sept 05. Did you decide to come back to us? Or as previously stated are you using someone else's user?

Once again sorry for not being able to help you, but I wanted to ask here since I wasn't sure if you read the regionals.

Check your ground on the vtec solenoid and make sure the pin is pushed in the ECU not loose. Another thing EGR it could be the valve itself is bad if cleaning it doesnt net anything or just bad wiring. Those are a few things to check but yea.

Well as a few people know my girlfriend started getting on this site when I bought her a 90 EX then I bought a 91 that had an H22A swap from a guy on here. Now I have pieced together a 92 EX with parts and engine from the other 2 cars. I just never changed the screen name.

          2. Your listed as being just over in Grandview. Why don't you come meet up with the rest of the KC crew?
I love my car enough that I will not show it off when it is not in good running condition. I was gonna meet up with you guys at some things that were going on a few weeks ago but, my car started fucking up AGAIN!

Never left, I mostly use this site as info right now, when I get everything running right, I will start making friends on here again and hanging out.

Once again sorry for not being able to help you, but I wanted to ask here since I wasn't sure if you read the regionals.
Its cool, yeah I read them to keep up on everyones cars around me.

No, not yet. My frined and I took parts that we had and put them together so I could get to work. It ran fine for a little while after that. Just after I cleaned that stuff its fucked ever since. I did reset the ECU thats why it only shows the 2 codes now (EGR & VTEC pressure switch). And I did again tonight after changing the plugs.

Thanks, I have checked the ground and pins, nothing! And as far as the EGR valve I am really not worried about cuz after I get everything else fixed I am planning on getting a P28 hondata tuned ecu and will prolly just have it deleted.

Is vtec kicking in for you?

Like someone else said I'd try a new dizzy first.

Vtec works when it wants to, if it works when the car warms up then it will work the whole time. If it does not work then it won't work the whole time. It changes everytime I shut it off. And no, its not consistant. I hope this makes sense to everyone.

This problem sounds very similar to what Nicole and Luis (hondaccordgrl) were experiencing shortly after they finished her swap.. May not hurt to shoot her and Luis a PM. I believe they have everything running correctly and strong now.. And they are local.. Later

Anyway it could be as easy as a bad sensor. I think you can ohm it out and it should be within a certain spec. But I am not sure about that.

Make sure everything is plugged into the right places. For example. I accidently plugged the EGR plug into the TPS sensor when I did my 1st swap. The knock sensor and several other sensors use the same shape plug.
Just make sure you didn't switch the VTEC plug onto some other sensor. That would allow VTEC to work, but the computer could throw a code for the sensor not working right... what ever is currently controlling your VTEC selenoid (sp?) is probably supposed to go to another sensor.
