HELP !!! Straight Swap Nightmare ...

Bought a JDM motor for my 94 wagon w/ f22b1 VTEC. New motor is in, not that hard just seriously time consuming dimantaling the whole car only to put it all back together again and find out the new motor has NO port in the intake for the FIA CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE and no vacuum ports on the fuel rail for the 2 vacuum lines coming off the FIA VALVE %#@! ...

What do I do now ??? No I can"t drill the new intake there's no port in the intake to drill to and no vacuum ports above the intake ports like my old motor.

Please help me or I'm screwed when Mon. rolls around .

    TIA
    Jeff

            West Hills

Sits on the accelerator/cruise control bracket.
Wouldn't have been able to even tell you what it is if I didn't think of looking on the hood sticker vacuum diagram.

what the hell is the FIA Control Solenoid Valve???

there is the Electronic Air Control Valve assy. which is on the back of your intake manifold

and a Fast Idle Valve assy. which is located on the bottom of your throttle body. (just coolant lines)

there is also a air boost chamber on the end of the intake mani, but that just has a bunch of vacuum line connections.

are you talking about the Air Assist valve solenoid? but thats not on your intake manfold.

In any case, i think someone mentioned it above, maybe not. If the intake manifolds are different and ur JDM one doesnt appear to have the necessary parts/functions as ur USDM ( which is weird) then why not swap ur OLD intake manifold or at least the plenum/TB over to the new JDM engine???? since you DID state that is was a straight swap.

New motor didn't have it. Figured that out too late. New motor was in and I was hooking up vac lines when I found the difference. Intake and head are totally different. New motor has no holes above intake ports in head and no provision for the old vac line in the new IM.

what year is your car. i believe you must have gotten a ob1 motor instead of an ob2 or vise versa

do you mean FICV = Fast Idle Air (Control Valve) ???

is that what you are talking about

no because he was talking about on the intake manifold. Fast idle on that engine is on the bottom of the TB.

                              Up and running : )

                              Yeah !!!

Ended up that I had a f22b1 and I was delivered a f22b. The main difference seems to be that my b1 came with the FIA CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE (as stated on my underhood sticker description) and the b doesn't. So I swapped my old IM for the new one, I ended up using the newer injectors also.

Any idea what other differences between the b and b1 ?

Oh yeah the wagon runs GREAT now !!!

                              Thanks
