coolant doesnt go back in the raditor

As the title say after driving around my car gets hott like normal, but when I turn off my car and come back a few hours later and pop the radiator cap off, its partial empty. I check the overflow reservoir and its full to the top. I can not for the life of me figure out why the coolant doesn't get sucked back in the radiator, any suggestion would be helpful.

Worst case scenario you got a head gasket issue. OTher things you can have is a bad cap, thermostat can cause this sometimes. Have you witnessed any overheating issues?

yeah is this one of the symptoms of a failed water pump? not having enough coolant in the radiator?

No leaks and the cooling fans are coming on, hmm well i guess that tune up is coming sooner the expected.
